I literally could not put this book down

Ever-Flowing Streams: Christ, Reiki, Reincarnation and Me

Book One ~ Supernal Living Series

What others are saying about Ever-Flowing Streams~

F“Dana Taylor has written an engrossing and powerful memoir that touched my soul. I literally could not put this book down until I had finished the last page. I read with an open heart and an open mind, and I came away with a new and amazing awareness of my own inherent ability to heal myself and to offer healing thoughts to others. Dana’s story and her suggested healing exercises have strengthened my Christian faith, and I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who is curious about the healing power of prayer.” Donna Fasano, USA Today Bestselling Author

“The honesty displayed in Dana Taylor’s memoir, Ever Flowing Streams, is immediately evident. From her painful battle with panic attacks, choking sensations, and chronic inflammation, she leads the reader patiently, but determinedly through her struggles for answers. Sleepless nights, more often than not, lead to too much alcohol to deaden the pain and allay the fears. The author lays out life struggles for the ultimate good of any reader open to the possibility of a spiritual solution.

Her Christian upbringing and beliefs blend, not always easily, with other forms of spiritualism. At times, she fights to open her mind to the belief that Reiki, for instance–often viewed by Christians as evil–might help her discover the awareness to heal her ravaged body and spirit, and possibly to help others.” Mary Cunningham, author Cynthia’s Attic Series

Powerful stories and raw emotion are masked beneath her subtle humor and down home personality. While the book is not a tutorial or a lesson, it is a guidepost to consider something more.” Karen Syed, Echelon Press

This is a book not to be missed. I highly recommend anyone interested in energy medicine, healing or miracles read this powerfully moving and illuminating book.” Lois Wetzel, author of Reincarnation: Past Lives and the Akashic Records

Celebrating the release of Supernal Adventures: Exploring the New Normal of Multidimensional Living, Book Two ~ Supernal Living Series

Supernal Adventures

Supernal AdventureIn 2005 my friend, Paula, experienced a “miracle” healing of an “incurable” disease, RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome), through a Reiki therapist. RSD is an excruciating condition. It generally begins after an injury. The nervous system keeps sending the pain signals. First noted in the Civil War, surgeons performed amputations in an attempt to halt the pain. The result was “ghost pain.” Though the limbs were gone, the soldiers still felt the throbbing, unrelenting agony.

A fall on a stairway began a seven year descent into misery and disability for Paula. She was ultimately on 29 medications and had two battery devices installed into her back with lead wires attached to her spine to offer pain control. Her entire right side was involved. She often used a cane and occasionally a wheelchair. She became part of a control group of an RSD specialist at UCLA. In the summer of 2005 the doctor told her they were out of options and to prepare herself for a life confined to a wheelchair and ultimately a bed. She was 50 years old.

Given that grim future outlook, she and her sister, Sue, took my suggestion to visit me and schedule appointments with the wonderful Reiki therapist, Helen, I had recently met. At the very least, it would be a fun vacation for them.

Much to our amazement, after three Reiki sessions, Paula no longer suffered from RSD. Her healing opened up a whole new world for us. Paula, Sue, and I began exploring energy healing, quantum physics, alternative medicine, and meditation. Our weekly meditation sessions took on a mystical life of their own. We began calling ourselves the Supernal Friends.

Being a writer and observer, I took notes of what happened in our sessions. Over the course of time, I filled pages and pages of what I called the Supernal Journals. Now, a decade later, I’ve used those journals as the basis for my new book, Supernal Adventures: Exploring the New Normal of Multidimensional Living.

Join the Supernal Friends on their many adventures. You may discover the new normal of multidimensional living for yourself!

No Sissies Allowed

Merry Christmas from Dana and Gracie

Merry Christmas from Dana and Gracie

Bette Davis said, “Getting old isn’t for sissies.” While I don’t think I yet qualify as “old,” (whenever that is), I have passed through many of life’s stages. A year ago I was experiencing my first Christmas as a widow. I’d had a nice Thanksgiving with my daughters, but they had flown home by early December. I needed to have a quiet time put an end to My Goodbye Year (see post of 12/2013).

I pulled out a long-neglected manuscript (Proud Heart), and dove into one of the first stories I had written. I cleaned up some newbie-writing problems and enjoyed re-discovering my characters. The inspiration for the heroine had been my Grandma Rose. I am glad I finally published her story.PH WEB medium

2014 was a year of new birth. In February, almost exactly a year from the passing of my husband, David, our younger daughter, Cary, gave birth to Noah David in Hawaii. Noah 3 months After spending nearly a month in the Manoa Valley helping shepherd Noah into the world, I returned to my solitary existence in California. I now had three grandchildren, two in Missouri and one in Hawaii. I took stock of my life. The California house had been in my family since 1963. It was comfortable, but it was mighty lonely. I could spend years as my father and grandmother had done, living alone and waiting for people to visit. Oh, I had friends and many activities, but home is where the heart is and those grandkids are my joy. Carnival

FrontSo, I prayed and asked for a LOT of help to ready the house for sale and start a new chapter of life. My spiritual helpers were on it. A friendly, helpful , professional realtor came my way. (You’re the best Tom Fosmire!) A great handyman, Ron, appeared to patch, paint, and repair all the little upgrades needed to make the house market-worthy. Closets were cleaned, several lifetimes of photographs shipped to Missouri, and the barest of personal belongings kept.  Several friends helped with the obligatory garage sale in July.  By September a young couple ready to begin their life together had made an offer and I walked out of the carved wooden front  door for the last time.

First stop was Missouri, where my cat and I settled into the top floor of my daughter and son-in-law’s lovely house. Iphone_backup_Oct_2014 305  It’s a big house and I’ve been happy to pitch in with housekeeping chores, cooking, and child care.  I’ve read the first three Harry Potter books aloud to six-year-old Will and specialize in funny faces in the mirror before tucking him into bed.

Several outdoor cats provide much feline drama and entertainment. Girls I enjoyed the colors of fall and the first dusting of snow. Iphone_backup_Oct_2014 424 I will enjoy my first Missouri Christmas and after the New Year I will be heading to Hawaii to ride out the winter in the tropics with Baby Noah. Daan and Noah at zoo

I don’t feel old, but I do sense that every day is a gift and each year passes quickly. I begin each morning in prayer and meditation, sending love to friends, family, and the world. I ask for guidance and my spiritual “team” steers me in the paths I take. I am amazed at the grace I receive.

2015 is bound to be full of surprises. Where will I live? Will I make new friends? How will I lead the most meaningful life? Whatever happens, I am counting on Spirit to give me the courage I need to embrace challenges and definitely not be a “sissy.”

Blessings to all for the Holidays—

Dana Taylor

The Sooner Spirit shines in PROUD HEART

PH WEB mediumTaylor email 03 by Dana Taylor

I interrupt this “supernal” blog to announce a new release from my “romantic” side. Yes, I have a new book out. PROUD HEART is my love letter to my years in Oklahoma. As a California girl who suddenly found herself a new bride in the Sooner State, I experienced definite culture shock. For instance, strangers who crossed my path actually looked me in the eye and smiled. Some even said, “Howdy.” (For real. “Howdy.” ) Neighbors came over to introduce themselves. Everyone went to church. Oklahomans ate black eye beans on New Years Day and grew okra in summer gardens. When we bought our first home, my neighbor, Mrs. Blakely, was a woman in her 70’s who had been a teacher in a one-room school house. Great Little House on the Prairie!

The close-knit culture harkened back to a unique historical event–the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889.

As the years passed and my children participated in Land Run Day events, I became fascinated with the idea of a state being settled in one day. A sort of Big Bang Theory toward statehood. What kind of people would leave everything they knew to line up in the wilderness and make a mad dash for free land? (160 acres to call their own if they could stick it out for five years.) They came in two varieties–the Boomers and the Sooners.

1. Boomers–they made the run legally after the shot was fired.

2. Sooners–they got to their spots “Sooner,” having sneaked into the Unassigned Territories before the sanctioned hour and staked out their claims.

PROUD HEART grew out of that fascination. Of course, a good story needs a solid cast of characters. A romance novel needs a compelling hero and heroine and enough action to keep them from HEA for about 75,000 words. Read about the inspiration for my heroine, Rosa, at my new website DanaTaylorAuthor.com in the post TIME FOR A LATINA HEROINE.

Here’s the book description:

Free land! On April 22, 1889 thousands of hearty souls gathered at the Arkansas border. They dashed into the Unassigned Lands to claim their portion of the American dream and followed their hearts to a place called Oklahoma.

Rosa—The daughter of nobility, she lost her family to violence in Mexico. Does she have the courage to make a new life in a strange country?

Steven—The charismatic leader, fighting injustice of the downtrodden. Could Oklahoma be the New Promised Land?

Ricardo—The California horseman, alone after tragedy and misfortune wiped out his hopes. Could the Land Run offer a fresh, new start?

As newcomers struggle to settle a new territory, fortunes are made, friendships are forged. Love is tested. Will Rosa yield her proud heart to find real happiness?
