Unravel Personal Mysteries with Akashic Records Readings

Part one of a series on the Akashic Records

I’m almost finished reading THE AKASHIC RECORDS: Sacred Wisdom for Transformation by Ernesto Ortiz. Before I post a review, I thought a little ground work might be in order. Here’s an article I wrote about the fundamental understanding of Akashic Records.

Do you have an unexplained phobia? Do dogs terrify you? Maybe you’ve never learned to swim because you hate the water. You may have more serious issues, like addictions or obsessions. Perhaps you have a mysterious medical condition that has confounded doctors for years. As strange as it sounds to most Western thinkers, the origins of these challenges may come from a past life connection. But how would you know?

Increasingly, curiosity seekers are making their way to Akashic Records Readers.

What are the Akashic Records? Metaphysical writings going back to ancient times refer to a spiritual library of sorts where every incarnated soul has their personal record. The Bible has many references to the Book of Life, which some believe alludes to the Akashic Records. The twentieth century seer, Edgar Cayce, brought the Akashic Records back into the limelight by referring to them as he diagnosed patients to discern the origins of their maladies.

Now in this post-New Age, people with psychic abilities are training in metaphysical schools to tap into the Akashic Records and help others solve their personal mysteries. Readers learn to tune into the Akashic Library where there are spiritual librarians, so to speak. They are the keepers and guardians of the records, able to impart knowledge, insight, and guidance.

Preparing for an Akashic Records Reading is important. The seeker must prepare a list of questions. Sample questions can be found on-line, but here are various topics:

  • Life challenges
  • Recurring problems
  • Relationship complications
  • Phobias
  • Obsessions
  • Addictions
  • Disabilities
  • Life purpose
  • Talents
  • Spiritual direction

The reader will tune into the Akasha level of spirit, say a prayer, announce the name of the seeker asking information, and request that their record be opened. The seeker begins going down their list of prepared questions. The reader communicates between the seeker and the library guardians.

A hypothetical question might be, “Why am I so afraid of the ocean?”

The answer may refer to a past life as a slave being transported from Africa to the Americas. “You were sickly and thrown overboard. Death by drowning left a residue of fear of the sea in your spirit.” Interestingly, often once the source of a problem is revealed, the challenge may lessen or disappear.

Akashic Record readings can take many twists and turns. They can be merely amusing or utterly life changing. Whether you are dealing with a seemingly insurmountable challenge, a recurring annoyance, or simply want to see the bigger picture of your life, a trip to the Akashic Records may help you better understand yourself and the people around you.

What are Akashic Records?

The post I ran last August on Akashic Records is one of my most-viewed articles. Several people I know have made appointments with Helen at Ripples of Light for Records Consultations. Here is a revised version for your information:

What are Akashic Records? Metaphysical literature is rich with references to the records. I’ve seen them called a Heavenly Library— a center where all the history of the universe is contained. Lately, analogies to the Internet have been appearing. Some believe the Biblical Book of Life is actually the Akashic Records. Everyone has a separate record that contains their individual history of all their past lives, relationships, life contracts, and between life events. You name it, it’s in the Records.

I realize this represents a tremendous paradigm shift for Westerners who still believe this is the one go-around on the earth plane. After that, it’s heaven or hell for eternity. If you firmly stand in that camp, then the Akashic Records are the stuff of fantasy. If you can entertain a different point of the view—read on.

Is an Akashic Record reading like a Psychic Reading? Yes and no.

Akashic Record readers certainly must have psychic abilities. It is the source of their information that should be clearer than the psychic on the corner. The AR Reader knows how to go to the guardians and guides of the records and communicate with those entities. It’s akin to going to the National Library and seeking the assistance of the Head Librarian.

What’s the value of an Akashic Record Reading?

Picture going to counselors who know everything about you before you ever enter their office. When I say everything—I mean everything. Not that they will tell you everything; being wise they edit their comments. But they have access to information that can shed light on puzzling life situations.

For instance, perhaps there is a troubling relationship—somebody who holds unexplained animosity and causes continual turmoil. An Askashic Record reading might reveal a past life where you transgressed and hurt that person. You might gain a broader understanding of what is happening between the two of you and figure out a way to heal the relationship now that you know you are not merely an innocent victim of unfair treatment.

In another situation you may have a sudden feeling of recognizing a total stranger, an odd attachment out of the blue. A Reading could reveal that person was in your family circle. There is the concept of Soul Families, where people often incarnate repeatedly, playing different roles in each other’s lives. Discovering someone has been a spouse, child, or sibling can explain a lot. Record Readings can also shed light on habits, ruts, and destructive patterns. When you feel the need for a soul check-up, an Akashic Record Reading can be an enlightening experience.

How to prepare for an Akashic Record Reading: It’s best to prepare a list of questions. Go through the various areas of your life–relationships, finances, personality quirks, health, career, and talents. Here’s a few ideas

  • What is my life purpose?
  • What lessons am I here to learn?
  • Why am I dealing with this particular life issue?
  • Why do I have conflict with this person?
  • What am I suppose to learn from this relationship?
  • Why do I have this fear?
  • Is there an area that I haven’t considered that I can gain helpful knowledge about?

Who offers Akashic Record Readings? Learning to read the Records requires training. There are actually established associations to certify intuitives as official Akashic Record Readers. Obviously, it requires a certain psychic talent that is refined in the training process. You can find more information on the web with an Akashic Record search and see the various places that offer training and certification.

Like selecting any professional from a plumber to a doctor, due diligence is recommended before engaging a Records Reader and investing in a session. I highly recommend Helen at Ripples of Light. She sets up appointments by phone and Zoom at a reasonable price. You will enjoy her gentle spirit, insights. and lilting British accent.

Soul Families

Soul families. An interesting concept. Through years of metaphysical reading, the idea pops up time and again. Not only are we eternal souls having a human experience (that old saw); we are part of soul families who often incarnate together. There are certain people you meet and feel you have known them forever, and, well—you have.

Think about it—aren’t there a few people in your life with whom you share a special bond? No matter how much times goes by between visits, you are comfortable together and intimate conversation is effortless. Maybe you had a some-enchanted-evening sort of meeting where you instantly recognized them across a crowded room. And I’m not talking necessarily about a romantic connection.

One such person in my life is Thom. Our mothers worked together at General Motors years before we were born. We met in the third grade. I have a clear memory of him pushing a spelling test in my direction to help me with the word “since.”

In high school we had many classes together and happily became Drama Freaks. One show after another. White shoe polish in our hair playing old people. Me in a buck skin shirt dressed as Calamity Jane singing duets with his Wild Bill Hickok. Private jokes. We bought season tickets to the best shows in Los Angeles and saw Angela Lansbury, Katherine Hepburn, Debbie Reynolds, Lauren Bacall, Liza Minelli—live! Romance was never in the cards, so we didn’t have to break each other’s hearts as a rite of passage. We were just the best of friends.

After high school we went our separate ways, but always kept in touch. He became a flight attendant. I ended up in Oklahoma, married, and raised my family for thirty years. Somewhere in the early 80’s, we lost touch. The faithful birthday and Christmas cards from him stopped. My cards were returned addressee unknown. Life was busy, but as time went by, I became convinced Thom must have perished in the AIDS epidemic. Other friends hadn’t heard from him either and had drawn the same conclusion. The thought of Thom enduring the stages of AIDS made me exceedingly sad, but I tucked Thom into the recesses of bygone days.

Except in my dreams. Over the course of the next twenty-five years I had recurring Thom Dreams. They were always different, yet similar. I would suddenly be in a room and see Thom. Usually he was unfolding clothes from a suitcase.

I’d walk up to him, over-joyed and then highly irritated. “You’re alive! Where have you been? Why haven’t I heard from you? We all thought you were dead!”

He never replied. Usually he stood still, maybe a bit puzzled, and totally ignored me. One especially vivid dream featured a bank of windows looking out over the night line of a big city, fully lit and breathtaking. The room had two beds.

Years went by between dreams, but they always startled me out of my sleep and were unusually memorable.

Fast forward to December 2006. By then, I had met Helen, my Reiki therapist, seen Paula healed from an incurable disease, been attuned, anointed and what have you. The Supernal Adventures were well under way. (See EVER-FLOWING STREAMS).

Helen is also a certified Akashic Records reader (that’s a story for another day). Sue had an appointment to have her records read. The day before the appointment, I had another Thom Dream. This time he was in a living room with white couches and potted plants tastefully lining the walls. I went into the same rant—“We thought you were dead! Why haven’t I heard from you?”

I called Sue. “Listen, when you talk to Helen, ask her if Thom is dead or alive. This is driving me crazy!”

So Sue asked. Helen said, “I am sensing his energy and it isn’t the type of someone who has passed over. I think he’s still alive. But, he’s been far away.”

What??? We were so positive he was dead. Well, it took less than five minutes and a Google search to find him. We were both once again living in the LA area.

Through phone calls, Facebook, and emails we’ve been in contact, but life has been busy. Finally, last weekend we had a real reunion doing our favorite thing—going to the theater.

We talked and talked. Catching up, yet feeling that special no-time-has-passed connection.

Thom is part of my soul family. Those dreams? Perhaps astral projection to some hotel room where Thom was between flights?  Maybe. That’s fodder for another blog.

All I know is–once he was lost, but now he is found. Soul families? I am a believer.
