Looking for a fictional story with strong spiritual overtones? Check out this award-winning tale from June O’Brien, a member of the Nansemonde Tribe of the Northwest. She is from a culture in which seeing spirits, visiting with them, and being summoned are not unusual.  She knows the spiritual gifts of wild plants, gathers them and makes medicine for the body and for the soul.  This knowledge is woven into The Blue Child Series.

From the TISBA Judge Review:

Called by Spirit, the three sisters, Grace, Agnes and Ruby, come together to travel from sanctuary to sanctuary in order to hide powerful, ancient medicine from a group of beings from the dark side, the Lillin. This group has unexpectedly discovered the existence of this long-hidden power, and they have great resources to bring to bear to capture and possess it.

This riveting adventure is from the start compelling, fast becoming an impossible-to-put-down nail-biter as the reader eagerly awaits the outcome of the sisters’ mission.  Ms. O’Brien skillfully weaves an intricate, personal relationship between the sisters and the various beings, human and otherwise, encountered along the way.

The Gift of Cancer experienced by Anita Moorjani

Reiki has gained national acceptance largely through the endorsement of many hospitals recommending energy treatments for cancer patients. Being infused with healing energy helps counteract the detrimental affects of standard medical treatments. Lately, my therapy table has been all too busy with friends and clients dealing with cancer issues. The good news is  many are moving beyond the shock of a cancer diagnosis to  pro-active holistic steps to improve health through mind, body, and spirit transformation.

I was loaned a copy of DYING TO BE ME by Anita Moorjani this week and I highly recommend it for anyone, not just people dealing with cancer.

Moorjani has been to hell and heaven and back. A four year battle with lymphoma finally led to a coma and near death experience (NDE) on February 2, 2006. However, that was anything but “the end.” In fact it was just the beginning. Moorjani experienced an expansion of consciousness in her comatose state. She connected with doctors, nurses, family, spirits, and the cosmos. She moved beyond linear time. From the spirit world she met her father and best friend who guided her and counseled her to return to the earth plane and bring her body back to life. Her work was not finished.

Moorjani’s healing was as amazing as Eben Alexander’s PROOF OF HEAVEN tale. While both books amaze and encourage, Moorjani’s book carries a much more passionate message about life itself. She had been an average woman, raised in cross-cultures of Hong Kong, molded by the fears and insecurities common in the human experience. Her return from the brink of death not only transformed her body, but her complete understanding of what life is all about. She was told to go back and “live fearlessly.”

Don’t wait to get cancer to embrace her message. Pick up a copy of DYING TO BE ME by Anita Moorjani and be inspired to live life to the fullest.

TISBA category_winner_sm (1)While it’s great to build credibility through awards, it is the personal feedback of readers that is the most important reason to write a book like Ever-Flowing Streams. Here is a customer review that makes the time and effort of writing worthwhile:

From “LeoGoddess” (Southern California):

I was absolutely engaged, from the first page to the last. I could not put the book down. This isn’t just a memoir, or a book about healing. It is one woman’s spiritual journey at discovering her own healing power through Christ. She explains how it is available for all of us to tap in to. I appreciate her down to Earth approach and how she shares her doubts and thinks at times she might be “crazy”, yet she lets her heart guide her to amazing enlightenment. The book has the meat and potatoes of science and references to other scientific books if you care to research, sprinkled with the seasoning of personal life stories. It is an enjoyable, yet informative read. Personally, I felt like she was giving words and explanations to beliefs I already held to be true but could not explain. Each chapter was a beautiful revelation, such as the fact that at our DNA level we are luminary beings as we are made of bio-photons which actually emit light energy. I felt safe in the knowledge that she is just a girl from California, seasoned in the Southern Midwest who has a Christian background. My fear of tapping into things that weren’t of God have always held me back. Without being preachy, the author gives honor to God and Jesus for her gift of healing power. I am thankful that she answered the call and had the courage to share this with us all.

John Denver Messages of Wisdom and Love

Dana Review by Dana Taylor

UPDATE: 2019–Unfortunately, these books are no longer available through Amazon.com. However, I have contacted the author, Janice Hunneybell, and she sent me PDF files of both manuscripts. If anyone would like to receive the manuscripts, free of charge, please send me a request at supernalfriends@yahoo.com.–Dana Taylor

Australian spiritual author, Janice Hunneybell, has collaborated with the spirit of singer, John Denver, on two of the best channeled books I have read. THINGS THAT I BELIEVE IN and ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE are inspirational guideposts to wise living. Sure, I can hear the skeptics scoffing–John Denver?  “Rocky Mountain High.”  She was high on something, alright. All I can say is, read with an open mind. The voice of the material certainly sounds like it could come from John Denver, especially THINGS THAT I BELIEVE IN. Interestingly, there seemed to be less “voice” in ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE and Jan addresses that in her ending words about the writing experience. Yet, the wisdom is all there.

The truth is, the source of the material hardly matters, because the spiritual insights are so solid. These are good principles for living. The ultimate message is one of hope and joy. I read the books slowly, to begin my days and lead into meditation and prayer time. I recommend them for anyone consciously seeking a spiritual journey.

About the author

Image of Janice Hunneybell

Janice Hunneybell is an inspirational spiritual writer. Her books, ‘Things That I Believe In’ and ‘All You Need Is Love’, are channeled spiritual communication from John, who shares his views and philosophy of life and meaning. ‘Things That I Believe In’ was first published in 2008 and is now a kindle e-book. It has been popular with people who want to understand more about life and spirituality. It is easily read but informative and has brought great comfort to people dealing with grief and loss. ‘All You Need Is Love’ was published as an e-book in January 2014. A paperback edition is planned later in 2014 along with collections of her poetry, talks, songs and essays. After a career in administration, Janice chose to follow a path of spirituality, writing, healing (Reiki Master), channeling/mediumship and teaching, giving talks and facilitating workshops on spiritual development and inspirational writing. Born in London, England, Janice now lives in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne, Australia with her husband Gordon and a slightly deranged but very sweet cat. An indulgent mother and grandmother to two adult children and four grandchildren, she also seems to have been adopted by a variety of local wildlife including possums, magpies and kookaburras…

Healer Reveals Soul Secrets

21 Layers of the Soul: Healing the Karmic Ties with Friends, Lovers, Family and Enemies by Annemiek Douw, MSc is one of the most fascinating metaphysical books I’ve read in quite a while. Douw is a Dutch healer with a busy European practice. As is often the case, her personal physical and emotional traumas led to unusual paths and extraordinary healing abilities.

Part One describes her personal journey. Part Two gets into the meat of the material—explaining the 21 Layers of the human auric field. Most of us who grasp the concept of auras have come to envision what she labels as layers 1-4: Physical, Emotional, Mental, and Astral. Beyond that, Douw defines various layers that reveal our complicated relationships through time and space. We are individuals, but we are also part of families, races, soul groups, humanity and many other categories. As the layers progress, they become less individual and more inter-related.

The author explains each layer and then illustrates with case studies of clients dealing with personal issues that brought them to her door. As someone who also works in energy healing, I was envious of her ability to read auric fields and pinpoint where a client needed help.

The material supposes a world view of past lives and karmic ties. Working with her spiritual guides, Douw hones in on specific past lives to explain current life situations. As I’ve seen in other books on similar subject matter, people often carry erroneous life lessons from one experience to another. For instance, in a very simplistic example, if someone dies by drowning, their last thoughts may be “never go swimming.” This leads to an “irrational” fear of swimming in the next life. As a healer, Douw goes in and works in the proper energy field to release that past life fear and rewrite their life script. The case histories reveal much more complicated issues. If there is truth to the concepts of this book, we all are influenced by thoughts and experiences far beyond our conscious awareness.

This book is an important addition to the lexicon of metaphysical books on spiritual healing. In this day of expanding consciousness, our understanding of the human experience continues to grow. If you’re ready to widen your world view, read Annemiek Douw’s 21 Layers of the Soul.

“Things That I Believe In,” Thoughts of John Denver

Are these the thoughts of John Denver?

I haven’t read this book, but I’ve formed a cyber friendship with inspirational  Australian author and medium, Janice Hunneybell. This book certainly sounds intriguing. Download it for free this New Years Holiday! DT

Through the mediumship of Janice Hunneybell, John, a singer, songwriter and environmentalist, communicates from beyond with the message that human consciousness continues after physical death. He shares his thoughts on life’s deepest questions – what happens when we die and why we are here – and talks about forgiveness, gratitude, fear and many other subjects in an informal but informative way, illustrating his message with personal examples. With the wisdom of hindsight, having looked back on the lessons of his own life and also having learned a great deal since his dramatic exit from the physical world, John gives his opinion on how to make the most of the life we have.

This book has helped and inspired many people since it was first published. Some people say it has changed their life. It is a book that provides insights and food for thought for spiritual seekers, whether they are on a new pathway or a well trodden one, and also for those who are coping with bereavement or are curious about the afterlife. It is also for anyone who has reached the point of wondering what life is all about and if they have a purpose and for those who find themselves thinking, ‘There really must be more to life than this … ‘

For a small book it covers some huge topics. John does not try to convince anyone of anything, believing that it is for the reader to make up their own mind and to trust their own heart. He says, ‘I am not asking anyone to believe in me … Your belief or otherwise will not affect our pathway and it will not affect the fact of (my) existence, only in your own mind … however, I would appreciate the privilege of sharing what I have learned with you if you are open to receiving it.’  John’s warmth and humour shine through and complex concepts are discussed in a readable and down-to-earth way.
