“Things That I Believe In,” Thoughts of John Denver

Are these the thoughts of John Denver?

I haven’t read this book, but I’ve formed a cyber friendship with inspirational  Australian author and medium, Janice Hunneybell. This book certainly sounds intriguing. Download it for free this New Years Holiday! DT

Through the mediumship of Janice Hunneybell, John, a singer, songwriter and environmentalist, communicates from beyond with the message that human consciousness continues after physical death. He shares his thoughts on life’s deepest questions – what happens when we die and why we are here – and talks about forgiveness, gratitude, fear and many other subjects in an informal but informative way, illustrating his message with personal examples. With the wisdom of hindsight, having looked back on the lessons of his own life and also having learned a great deal since his dramatic exit from the physical world, John gives his opinion on how to make the most of the life we have.

This book has helped and inspired many people since it was first published. Some people say it has changed their life. It is a book that provides insights and food for thought for spiritual seekers, whether they are on a new pathway or a well trodden one, and also for those who are coping with bereavement or are curious about the afterlife. It is also for anyone who has reached the point of wondering what life is all about and if they have a purpose and for those who find themselves thinking, ‘There really must be more to life than this … ‘

For a small book it covers some huge topics. John does not try to convince anyone of anything, believing that it is for the reader to make up their own mind and to trust their own heart. He says, ‘I am not asking anyone to believe in me … Your belief or otherwise will not affect our pathway and it will not affect the fact of (my) existence, only in your own mind … however, I would appreciate the privilege of sharing what I have learned with you if you are open to receiving it.’  John’s warmth and humour shine through and complex concepts are discussed in a readable and down-to-earth way.

My Goodbye Year

Dana  by Dana Taylor

I awakened to the quietest Christmas morning ever. My parents are long-gone. I’m no longer anyone’s darling daughter. My own daughters are young women now, nurturing their budding families. No husband greeted me on Christmas morning with fresh coffee and a new bottle of perfume. He suddenly departed in a car accident last February. My starring role as wife has played out. Even my identity as pet owner disappeared recently. My cat died at Thanksgiving. Enough already.

photo (3)I gazed out the bedroom window. A bright Southern California sun promised record-breaking high temperatures. Chirping birds appeared to be my most lively company. I threw off the covers, pulled on a Christmas sweatshirt and took myself off to duck pond park.

As I circled the water, I reflected on my year of goodbyes. Twelve months earlier, I’d anticipated 2013 with trepidation. The dreaded third year of the decade. All lives have patterns. To get the big picture, read Gregg Braden’s Fractal Time. It might change your life. If you live long enough and pay attention, you might figure out your key patterns. By 2003, I’d realized the third year of every decade brings illness, change, and often, death.

2003 was one of the most miserable years of my life. My Dad’s stroke irrevocably changed both our lives, forever. I hated leaving my family in Oklahoma and becoming his full time caregiver in California. On the outside, I appeared to be quite gracious about it, but inside I railed at losing my independence and the family life I had created. Of course, it was no picnic for Dad either. We struggled against the sudden restrictions and emerging new roles of disabled man and caretaker daughter. Yet, within the crucible of that difficult year, we both became better people. He revealed memories long buried. I was given the gift of really getting to know my father. My ego took a good bashing, which was a painful, but ultimately liberating experience. Once I surrendered to the changes of 2003, I found peace again.

Fast forward ten years. So much has happened in a decade. Between Reiki, prayer, meditation and numerous attunements, I perceive the world very differently. My intuition is much keener. I knew 2013 would be a year of departures and transitions. The first came on Christmas Day 2012 when my motherly mentor, Jeanie, went to be with Jesus on his birthday. Nobody loved Jesus like Jeanie. I’m sure He welcomed her with open arms.

I also sensed Christmas of 2012 would be my last holiday season with my husband. I didn’t let a moment go by unnoticed. I stored up the last conversations, the final smiles, the last date night in my mind to recall and relish. His final act of mailing a Valentine card to me before smashing his car in a construction zone, was heart-wrenching and wonderful at the same time.

The deaths kept coming– a childhood friend, close relatives of close friends. Last month, after great struggle, my dear mother-in-law finally passed over. Even my best feline pal, Buddy, had to leave me. I’d known his health was failing and his death could have been very depressing. Yet, his timing was perfect. He hung on until my family came into town for Thanksgiving. The morning when his breath grew short, I carried him out to his favorite chaise lounge in the backyard. I prayed over him and he simply let go. We buried him in his favorite garden spot.

The lessons of 2003 served me well for 2013.

  • Surrender–Don’t fight fate. Events are only bad if you perceive them that way. Instead of fighting the currents of change, survival may mean going with the flow. Surrender to sadness when it rises up. Let it flow and wash away.
  • Accept Grace–Spirit is always on hand to help through the hard times. The outpouring of emotional, financial, and practical support after my husband’s death came from many directions. My husband helped many people during his lifetime. They stepped forward to assist me for his sake and for mine.
  • Welcome Change–The seasons of life are ever-evolving. Remember the past fondly, but relish the adventures of the future. Keep growing, learning, and transforming.

2014 promises to be a time of new beginnings. New babies on the way! Our younger daughter, Cary, will give birth to her first baby almost a year to the day of her dad’s departure. New nieces and nephews are on the horizon.

Two new books are emerging from the depths of my creative subconscious. New clients and friends are finding their way to my doorstep.

Farewell to the Goodbye Year, ring in the Hello Year. The best is yet to come. (Maybe I’ll even get a new kitty.)

Happy New Year–

Dana Taylor

***************

chimesI am constantly amazed by the wonder of Reiki and the healing energies around us.  Frequency affects our physical and mental health. Reiki therapists work in the energetic fields of clients, infusing healing energy and removing blockages. So many influences are either positive or negative, energetically speaking. Begin thinking defensively as you make life choices. Fresh food, essential oils, purified water all lift our energetic frequency, whereas processed foods, toxic drugs, and many beverages drag people down.

Negative people and news sources are also to be avoided. You know who I mean–that constantly complaining “friend” who drains your energy. Those talking heads on FOX News. Turn the channel! Don’t take the call.

Even sound can be positive or negative. For Christmas, I bought myself (and my clients) this wonderful Chakra Chime from Soul Vibrations. The eight notes resonate at healing frequencies. You can literally feel them in your body. Spirituality has always been linked to uplifting music–chanting, hymns, mantras.  All pathways to higher consciousness.

During this holiday season, center yourself in higher energies–fresh food, laughter, beautiful music, and positive thinking.  Make 2014  a time of new, positive beginnings for your body, mind, and spirit.

Sending you Good Vibes–

Backache Relief with Energy Healing

Dana by Dana Taylor

Have you got the low miseries with back aches? If popping pain meds isn’t doing the trick, try boosting your natural healing abilities by thinking energetically. Your body is designed to heal. Here are some actions you can take to move toward wellness.

  1. Epsom Salt Bathsepsom saltThe magnesium in the salts is anti-inflammatory. The hot water helps release tension and stimulates the natural flow of body fluids to aid in healing.
  2. Young Living Essential OilsValor is sometimes called a “chiropractor in a bottle.” The blend of spruce, rosewood, blue tansy, and frankincense aids in the energy alignment of the body. The aroma is also very soothing. Layer peppermint on top for what I call “a massage in a bottle.” The stimulating effect of peppermint oil really kicks healing energy into action.
  3. Healing Energyenergy handsHealing energy frequencies are flowing around us, all the time. As a Reiki practitioner, I’ve learned how to consistently tap into them. But, anyone can get into the flow with some practice. Sit quietly and imagine a light beam from the heavens shining into the head and running  through the body. Our energy centers will open to the higher energies, like absorbing unseen, but very real rays of the sun.
  4. Enzyme Rich FoodsCooked foods are dead foods. Life begets life. Most of us don’t have nearly the enzyme activity needed from our food to provide the energy for optimum health. Healing requires extra energy. So, bump up your enzymatic activity by eating more raw, live food and whole food supplements. I recommend juicing and a quality supplement like Green Vibrance. Give your body the building blocks of nutrition it needs to heal itself.
  5. Examine your Emotions–often back problems have a relationship to “carrying troubles.” Be honest with yourself about the conflicts in your life. There may be a connection between that aching back and emotional pain, anger, or unforgiveness. If you can’t clear those emotional blockages on your own, seek a therapist who will help you work through them.

Be pro-active about your health and enjoy all that life has to offer.

Wishing you well–

Secrets of the Auric Field Revealed

Today, I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 11 of Annemiek Douw’s Virtual Blog Tour.

Annemiek’s book 21 Layers of the Soul: Healing the Karmic Ties with Friends, Lovers, Family and Enemies is celebrating its launch from December 2nd to 16th, 2013 at http://21LayersOfTheSoul.

Yesterday, Annemiek visited Suzanne O’Brien at http://www.reikichicktraining.com/articles/where they discussed distance healing and how to release buried emotions.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Annemiek when I got to ask her some questions on the process of unblocking Auras. I hope you enjoy it.

———-

DANA: If people ask what you “do,” how do you describe your work?

ANNEMIEK: I usually tell them that I work as a medium and paranormal therapist, and that I’m specialized in working in the Higher Layers of the aura. This means that I heal blockages – energy that has got stuck in the aura. The aura mirrors what happens in your life so if you are ill, have a trauma or find yourself stuck on your Life Path, it is all reflected there. I move my hands in the aura describing what went wrong and why, and I heal and cleanse it – which kind of looks like I am just moving my hands in the air. When the energy starts to flow again, the problem usually vanishes. It heals. In my work I am accompanied by angels, my guides, the client’s guides, other Light Beings and, if necessary, the client’s deceased loved ones.

Of course, I still work as a Management coach too and advise CEO’s on their business decisions, and their personal and professional lives. This perhaps sounds completely different but in fact, I also read the auras of the managers and even the businesses so even then, the advice I give comes from the Souls perspective. Alongside that, I also train other Lightworkers in my field of expertise – the higher layers of the aura.

In conclusion, I work on solving problems, focusing on where they originated instead of working on the symptoms.

DANA: When you work on blockages in people’s auras, what is the process? Do you see clients in person and work on them on a massage table or chair as an energy healer would or is there another method?

ANNEMIEK: When I work with Dutch clients, they come to my practice and have a 2 hour session. First we have some tea and talk about the reason they made the appointment. I ask them what they would like to see resolved. I write it down and sense if there’s anything else that needs my attention. If there is, I’ll ask them specific questions to try and find out more – I might give them an age or a year in their life, describe a person or a situation or even describe the problem that I sense is entwined with a particular blockage. As soon I feel that I have named the important blockages, I ask the client to take off his shoes, move to the massage table, and cover him with a blanket so he can relax as I move my hands and start the healing.

When I work long distance it works slightly differently. When I Skype or call a client, I weave a connection of Light and energy, just like a long umbilical cord between him and me, secure the line and start a similar process to the one I just described. The process is much the same except that it costs way more energy to work remotely because setting up and maintaining the connection takes a lot more, especially when it comes to the higher layers and working with more subtle energies. Personally I prefer Skyping over calling because then I can wear a headset and use both hands and it’s also nice to have a visual connection. It’s more fun. I hope to make Skype sessions available on a regular basis all around the world from March 2014.

DANA: I assume you can’t work on all 21 layers at once. How do you perceive what levels of the auric field need healing?

ANNEMIEK: In a way, that’s quite easy. After talking to the client and naming the problems I already picked up on, the blockages that have been described become active in the aura. I see them change color.

When there’s a blockage, it normally stretches out through several layers – just as a splinter pierces several layers of skin tissue, the blockage pierces multiple layers thus influencing you on several life themes. That’s also why the impact of a blockage can be quite severe. In these situations I start with the part of the ‘aura splinter’ in the highest infected layer and start to remove it. Normally, the rest will follow quite easily. After working with the first splinter I check the ones that remain and go to the next theme and do the same. I just follow the energy.

I have discovered that, during this process, I will come across all the issues that must be healed in this session. Over the years I’ve learned to trust that all I need to do is allow myself to be led by the client’s Soul and just follow his energy. This lets me do exactly what needs to be done in order for him to heal.

Frankincense and Myrrh, Ancient Remedies for Modern Times

Dana
 by Dana Taylor

wise-men

Every child who ever attended Sunday school knows that the three wise men (aka The Magi named Balthasar, Gaspar, and Melchoir) brought presents of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the baby Jesus. If you knew you would be seeing the son of God, the savior of the world, what would you bring as an appropriate gift? Certainly it would be something highly valuable. Today, gold would still be in the running, not to mention diamonds, and the latest electronic gadget. Why did the wise men two thousand years ago chose frankincense and myrrh? What are they exactly and what made them so valuable?

Frankincense and myrrh are essential oils.  Frankincense is distilled from the Boswellia tree that grows in Somalia, Oman, and Yemen. Myrrh, comes from the commiphora myrrha tree also found in the rocky soils of the mid east and Africa. Both are gum resins derived from the sticky sap of the trees.

For some 5,000 years pack animals and ships ventured across Asia, Africa, and Europe on thriving trade routes to disperse frankincense and myrrh throughout the ancient world. References to both religious and medicinal uses are recorded in historical accounts. The Greek historian, Herodotus, cites their usage in Egyptian animal sacrifices and human mummy preservation. African societies have burned frankincense for centuries to ward off illness. Science is now supporting the idea that it works as an insect repellant against the mosquitos that carry tropical diseases.

The most valuable knowledge to modern man may be in the medicinal uses of them as time-honored remedies. Frankincense is high in several therapeutic chemical constituents, including sesquiterpenes, known to stimulate the limbic system of the brain. It appears to have a balancing affect on the hormone-producing glands of the brain–the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary. Thus, frankincense is known for its mood uplifting benefits.

Frankincense is a master essential oil and used to treat a wide range of ailments including immune disorders, chronic diseases, and tumors. Maladies associated with frankincense include infections, ulcerative colitis, osteoarthritis, and even cancer. It is on the GRAS list (Generally Regarded as Safe) and can be ingested in very limited amounts. Check with the manufacturer to make sure it stands behind any internal use their product.

Myrrh is thicker and stickier than frankincense and became widely used for skin care in ancient times. Egyptian traders survived the harsh Arabian deserts by placing cones of fat laced with essential oils on their heads that melted during the day and gave their skin a protective coating. Myrrh served as a sunscreen and is being rediscovered today for its beautifying properties. Today it can be found in toothpastes, skin creams, and ointments for natural skin care. Chinese medicine cites benefits to the circulatory system and female disorders.

Essential oils can be utilized in a variety of ways:

  • Neat application–a few drops applied straight from the bottle to the skin. Place either on an area of concern, or infuse into the system by rubbing onto the bottom of the feet, most effectively after a bath or shower.
  • Diluted–Mixed with a carrier oil such as avocado, sesame, or olive, essential oils are massaged on the back or affected area.
  • Diffused–Released into the air by using a mechanical diffuser, the essential oils are gently inhaled and absorbed through the lungs.

So the next time you hear about the three wise men following that bright star across the Holy Lands to Bethlehem, take a moment to realize how gratified Mary and Joseph must have been to receive such precious gifts. In choosing gold, frankincense, and myrrh as presents for the baby Jesus, the Magi revealed great wisdom indeed for offering gifts of great value to honor the newborn King.
