Transcend Cancer

by Dana Taylor

Cancer. Such a frightening word. It conjures up dreadful images of weakened, ravaged friends and relatives. Bald children from St. Jude’s Children Hospital commercials. People who thought they had it licked, only to discover a lurking inoperable tumor.

After an initial cancer diagnosis, there is talk of “killing it,” “curing it,” “fighting it.” Some people simply give up and yield to it.

As a healer and Reiki practitioner, I’ve been on the front lines with cancer patients. Interestingly, thinking back, most of them are still alive. Cancer was part of their journey. They have dealt with it and moved on. It may return, but, for now, those people are living busy lives.

Lately, I find myself engaged with some new people dealing with cancer. As I’ve been praying and listening for guidance, a recurring Word has come to me ~~ Transcend.

In my world of vibrational and energy healing, illness and disease are mainly about frequencies and energy blockages. Cancer is a frequency zone. Damaged, sick cells reproduce and overtake healthy cells. As a Reiki energy healer, I help people raise their vibration and transcend the cancer zone through Reiki treatments.

I encourage people to become pro-active and holistic in their approach to becoming healthier. Following a medical protocol is only one aspect of sailing out of the doldrums of cancer. If you’re dealing with cancer, here are some ideas to consider as you adjust to your new health status.

Move Out of the Cancer Zone

Fun over Fear ~

The Law of Attraction teaches that whatever we concentrate on increases in our lives. Consequently, the more a person is engulfed by fear of cancer and all its ramifications, the more cancer is encouraged to grow. Frankly, thinking about cancer all the time is boring. It’s a real downer.

Don’t let cancer define you.

It takes mental discipline to distract your mind from a constant drumbeat of cancer, but it can be done. Find ideas and activities that are uplifting and engaging. Affirmations, meditations, good music, good times, whatever raises your mood is part of transcending cancer.

Fabulous Food ~

Food has become source of fear with cancer. Blaming the hot dogs, GMO’s, and chemicals prevalent in our food can make us choke on every bite. Some people become obsessed with eating organic for fear of ingesting carcinogens. While I think diet and polluted water probably is linked to the rise in cancer rates, it isn’t healing to excessively worry about it.

Make good food choices–primarily live, fresh food. Understand food from an energetic standpoint. It isn’t simply calories, it can be an infusion of energy. I’m a big fan of smoothies. By liquefying fresh fruits and vegetables, you are ingesting live enzymes and whole food nutrition. Adding a blessing of grateful intention augments the natural energy of the food. The lessons from Dr. Emoto’s Hidden Messages in Water illustrate how molecules can be transformed by healing intention.

Power up your food and water with healing energy through prayer and also choose from an array of water bottles now available for energizing drinking water.

Forgive and Forget About It

Cancer is often a metaphor for unforgiveness and guilt. Is there something that really “eats you up”? Is there an issue you need to “get off your chest?” Are events in your life “a real pain in the butt?” Life has a way of dishing up betrayal, abuse, neglect, and regret. Simply ignoring or burying negative emotions pulls you down into the Cancer Zone. Living in an unhealthy emotional zone can manifest into sick, unhealthy cells.  Cancer can be sending you a message.

Anita Moorjani’s autobiography, Dying To Be Me, eloquently describes the emotional connections to disease. The cancer journey can be very liberating of old patterns and grudges. Exploring the emotional trail that may have led to illness can actually be part of the Road to Healing.

Vibrational Healing ~

After my mother died from her long cancer experience in 1988, I determined to seek a different path of living. I prayed for guidance. My intuition led me to the blossoming field of alternative medicine. Chinese medicine, Eastern philosophies, homeopathy, flower remedies, essential oils, quantum physics, energy healing–it’s been quite an education. Ultimately, all these things come down to energy. What’s one of the first signs of illness? Fatigue. We sense our energy is being lowered by an invasion or imbalance of some kind.Vibrational healing focuses on raising the vibrational frequency at the cellular level. It can be approached in many ways.

For instance, my enthusiasm for essential oils is primarily derived from the understanding that they are extremely high energetically. Yes, they have components that kill germs, but it’s the infusion of energy from essential oils that is, in my opinion, their greatest healing property. The following chart compares the energetic measurement in various foods to essential oils. Working essentials oils into your daily routine is a fast and easy way to lift your frequency.

Processed Foods 0 Hz

Fresh Produce up to 15 Hz

Dry Herbs 20-22 Hz

Fresh herbs 20-27 Hz

Essential Oils 52-320 Hz

Eastern cultures have long recognized our energetic source. India calls it Prana. Chinese speak of the Chi. “Reiki” is a Japanese word for God’s Light or God’s Energy. Many healing modalities have an energetic foundation. The best known may be acupuncture which focuses on energetic pathways, called meridians, of the body. Keeping the meridians flowing freely promotes good health.

Modern science is meeting ancient modalities to produce exciting frequency raising machines and products. VibesUp is an intriguing company using the power of crystal earth energy in a wide array of items. Vibrational medicine machines such as Trinfinity8 are utilizing energy frequencies for healing. Truly, it’s the new frontier of medicine. How wonderful it would be to see the end of toxic drugs and radiation for cancer treatment.

At any rate, thinking energetically about wellness is a paradigm shift. Begin noticing if something raises you up, or drags you down.

  • Live food vs. processed food. The life in uncooked food raises your energetic level. Processed food extracts extra energy to digest.
  • Meditation, classical music, and nature walks don’t simply raise your spirits, they raise your frequency.
  • Avoid toxic people, places and things that bring you down. The energy loss has a significant physical impact.

Embrace Living ~

Finally, realize that every day you wake up you are LIVING. Despite a negative diagnosis, as long as you are breathing and getting around town, celebrate Life. There may be a day when you slip into a true “dying” mode and that can be beautiful also. Don’t rush it.

Write up that Bucket List and start checking things off. Set some goals and work towards them. Spend time with people you love and enjoy.

I will lift up mine eyes to the hills, from whence my help cometh. Psalm 121 KJV

Frankincense and Myrrh, Ancient Remedies for Modern Times

 by Dana Taylor

Every child who ever attended Sunday school knows that the three wise men (aka The Magi named Balthasar, Gaspar, and Melchoir) brought presents of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the baby Jesus. If you knew you would be seeing the son of God, the savior of the world, what would you bring as an appropriate gift? Certainly it would be something highly valuable. Today, gold would still be in the running, not to mention diamonds, and the latest electronic gadget. Why did the wise men two thousand years ago chose frankincense and myrrh? What are they exactly and what made them so valuable?

Frankincense and myrrh are essential oils.  Frankincense is distilled from the Boswellia tree that grows in Somalia, Oman, and Yemen. Myrrh, comes from the commiphora myrrha tree also found in the rocky soils of the mid east and Africa. Both are gum resins derived from the sticky sap of the trees.

For some 5,000 years pack animals and ships ventured across Asia, Africa, and Europe on thriving trade routes to disperse frankincense and myrrh throughout the ancient world. References to both religious and medicinal uses are recorded in historical accounts. The Greek historian, Herodotus, cites their usage in Egyptian animal sacrifices and human mummy preservation. African societies have burned frankincense for centuries to ward off illness. Science is now supporting the idea that it works as an insect repellant against the mosquitos that carry tropical diseases.

The most valuable knowledge to modern man may be in the medicinal uses of them as time-honored remedies. Frankincense is high in several therapeutic chemical constituents, including sesquiterpenes, known to stimulate the limbic system of the brain. It appears to have a balancing affect on the hormone-producing glands of the brain–the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary. Thus, frankincense is known for its mood uplifting benefits.

Frankincense is a master essential oil and used to treat a wide range of ailments including immune disorders, chronic diseases, and tumors. Maladies associated with frankincense include infections, ulcerative colitis, osteoarthritis, and even cancer. It is on the GRAS list (Generally Regarded as Safe) and can be ingested in very limited amounts. Check with the manufacturer to make sure it stands behind any internal use their product.

Myrrh is thicker and stickier than frankincense and became widely used for skin care in ancient times. Egyptian traders survived the harsh Arabian deserts by placing cones of fat laced with essential oils on their heads that melted during the day and gave their skin a protective coating. Myrrh served as a sunscreen and is being rediscovered today for its beautifying properties. Today it can be found in toothpastes, skin creams, and ointments for natural skin care. Chinese medicine cites benefits to the circulatory system and female disorders.

Essential oils can be utilized in a variety of ways:

  • Neat application–a few drops applied straight from the bottle to the skin. Place either on an area of concern, or infuse into the system by rubbing onto the bottom of the feet, most effectively after a bath or shower.
  • Diluted–Mixed with a carrier oil such as avocado, sesame, or olive, essential oils are massaged on the back or affected area.
  • Diffused–Released into the air by using a mechanical diffuser, the essential oils are gently inhaled and absorbed through the lungs.

So the next time you hear about the three wise men following that bright star across the Holy Lands to Bethlehem, take a moment to realize how gratified Mary and Joseph must have been to receive such precious gifts. In choosing gold, frankincense, and myrrh as presents for the baby Jesus, the Magi revealed great wisdom indeed for offering gifts of great value to honor the newborn King.

What’s So Special About Essential Oils?

mintFirst, what exactly are essential oils? Think of them as the life blood of plants. Modern science is backing up the ancient wisdom of distilling the oils from plants for a wide variety of health benefits.  The Three Wise Men of the Bible presented essential oil gifts of frankincense and myrrh to the baby Jesus because their value was highly esteemed in the days of the Roman Empire.

Today we’re breaking essential oils down to their molecular compounds and discovering a wealth of healing power. Take peppermint, for example. Sure, it tastes good in gum and candy, but it is a remarkable multiuse essential oil. Peppermint contains the following chemical constituents: Menthol, Menthone, Terpene oxides, cineole and, coumarins. If you follow the links, you’ll see an amazing array of healing benefits such as anti-septic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and invigorating.

peppermintEssential oils are packed with energy. Not only do they infuse healing compounds, they also deliver an infusion of pure energy. Look at this Hertz energy table comparison:

Processed Foods 0 Hz

Fresh Produce up to 15 Hz

Dry Herbs 20-22 Hz

Fresh herbs 20-27 Hz

Essential Oils 52-320 Hz

Peppermint oil has an energy frequency of 78, which is also the optimum frequency rate for a healthy human being. When a person drops in rate below 60, the body develops diseases. Here are the rates for illness:

Cold symptoms 58 Hz

Flu symptoms 57 Hz

Cancer 42 Hz

Essential oils are special because they not only deliver powerful healing compounds, they also raise the energetic frequency of the individual. Whether inhaled, applied topically, or in some cases, ingested, essential oils lift the body to healthier energy levels.

Peppermint oil is a favorite for its many benefits.

  • Aids digestion and relieves nausea: Soothe indigestion with a drop in a glass of water. Feeling nauseous? Rub a couple of drops in your palms and inhale the fumes. Excellent for immediate post-op recovery from anesthesia.
  • Muscle relief: Feeling tense? Rub on shoulders or back for a “massage in a bottle.” Can be diluted in a carrier oil.
  • Headache: Put a couple of drops on your forehead and temples. (Don’t get too close to the eyes. The fumes can make them water.)
  • Swelling (knees, ankles, etc.): Rub on area to release blockages.

Battle germs with essential oils

REVISED: January 2020
Something is definitely in the air, and I’m not talking about L-O-V-E. The coronavirus is front pages news right now. Seems a good time to revisit some commonsense ways a family can protect themselves from viruses circling the globe. The human immune system has a marvelous capacity to attack and overcome viral and bacterial invasions everyday. No need to panic. Just be smart. Use good basic hygiene. Always wash hands after public exposure and wear a face mask if the flu is reported in your area. If someone is ill in your home, keep a bowl of water and bleach standing. Always dip your hands in the solution after being in the sick room. Here are my go-to essential oils. My family has used Young Living Essential Oils since the early 1990’s. There are probably other good brands on the market, but Young Living has served us well.
Protect your family with some basic products.

Young Living Essential Oils

Essential oils can be your secret weapon against all the nasties in the air. Why? They kill viruses and bacteria; boost the immune system; energize the body. Young Living is the trusted brand I’ve been using for twenty years. Here are two basic products that should be in every medicine cabinet.
Purification is a citronella and melaleuca based blend that enhances the body’s natural immune system. It has a pleasant smell and can be applied before heading out into crowds. Rub it on the neck and hands. A couple drops in bath water adds a therapeutic boost to the cleansing process. Use daily and especially at the first sign of illness. See Product Details. I keep Purification in my purse at all times. When I fly, I always rub some drops on my neck and hands to ward off contagion from fellow travelers. It is also healing to insect bites and scrapes,
Thieves is a “hotter” blend that contains clove and cinnamon oil. The blend is named for robbers of dead bodies during the Black Plague in Europe. According to legend, the thieves could strip corpses of valuables and not fall ill themselves. After they were arrested, they revealed themselves as perfumers who knew the protective power of essential oils. The Young Living product is based on that centuries-old formula. Pleasantly pungent, Thieves delivers the one-two punch to germs. Rubbing on the bottom of feet infuses the whole system with healing properties.  Product details.
Peppermint Oil is an excellent oil to keep on hand. Rubbed onto sore muscles, it tingles and relaxes the area. A drop in the palm of the hands and then cupped under the nose, opens stuffy air passages. A drop in the navel combats nausea, as does inhalation of fumes. It freshens and cleans the air of a musty room. Product details
Essential oils can be used on small children. If there is a sensation of burning, apply some hand lotion to dilute. Rubbing oils onto the bottom of feet after a shower will deliver the benefits to the whole body. Oils can also be used in diffusers or simply inhaled by placing some drops in the palm of the hand and inhaling the fumes.
If you don’t know a Young Living distributor in your area, you can order products using my Dana Taylor membership number 57763 at Young Living

God’s medicines–Essential Oils

It’s that germ-ridden time of year. Be pro-active about keeping healthy and lay in a supply of Young Living Essential Oils.

My medicine cabinet holds an arsenal of powerful defenses and I think EVERYONE should have them also.  The knowledge of essential oils goes back to antiquity. Question–What were the treasured gifts the Wise Men gave the Baby Jesus? Answer–frankincense and myrrh, two precious essential oils. Modern research has found oils contain many healing agents, but more importantly, they are HIGHLY ENERGETIC. They are the life blood of plants and their healing properties and energies are extremely beneficial.

Purification is a Medicine Cabinet Must.  Ingredients: Citronella, lemongrass, rosemary, Melaleuca,
lavandin, and myrtle. Kills viruses on contact. Excellent to use when traveling or going out in public. Rub some on your hands and neck to protect your system. When you feel the beginning of a cold, apply several times a day to the throat area. (I put a drop in each nostril when I am fighting a cold. Some people may find that too strong.)

Thieves Ingredients: Clove, lemon,
cinnamon, Eucalyptus radiata, and rosemaryThieves is a “hotter” blend than Purification  and delivers a blast to enemy microorganisms. Legend has it the blend is named for the Thieves who robbed bodies during the Black Plague. They were perfumers who knew the power of the oils. They could rob the dead without getting sick themselves. Rub on the bottom of the feet to boost the immune system.

ImmupowerIngredients: Hyssop, mountain savory, ravensara, frankincense, oregano, clove , cumin,
and idaho tansy. The priciest and smelliest of the lot, the oregano oil in the blend gives off quite an aroma and I’m sure cold germs simply faint away. Application on the spine and bottom of feet will energize the body’s natural defenses.

Don’t let colds and flu get the upper hand. Go on the defensive with essential oils. They are truly God’s medicines. For more information go to Young Living Essential Oils. I strongly suggest finding a Young Living distributor in your area to learn more about these terrific products. If you just want to order on your own, feel free to use my distributor number 57763.
