Akashic Records:Case Studies of Past Lives by Lois Wetzel

Dana Review by Dana Taylor

The reason I’ve been posting about Akashic Records Readings is because learning about a past-life tie and the subsequent difficulties that resulted from that connection in my personal life was a major event. It took me over fifty years to put the pieces of my personal puzzle together, as is chronicled in Ever-Flowing Streams. It’s my hope that some people who are also dealing with mysterious phobias or afflictions that are linked to a past life occurence may be able to shorten the learning curve and move on to a better life.

My bouts of swollen glands, anxiety, and insomnia have all dissipated since my initial Reiki treatment in 2005. It took about three years to unravel the layers of connections, but my health and well-being are vastly improved over my previous four decades of life, largely due to understanding my soul’s long journey.

Akashic Records: Case Studies of Past LivesI recently came across a book by therapist Lois Wetzel entitled Akashic Records: Case Studies of Past Lives. I highly recommend investing $2.99 to read this fascinating compilation of case studies. Wetzel does an excellent job of explaining Akashic Records and the value they hold in helping people heal, break negative patterns, and understand puzzling relationships. Some of the stories are hard to grasp because they feel like a tale of science fiction. But, certainly modern living would seem completely unbelievable to people living only a few decades ago.

Written in a straightforward manner, the book gives example after example of past lives and how they affect modern people. Wetzel’s method of downloading particular lives as revealed by the Records Guardians is very interesting and somewhat different from the method I have experienced. Whereas the Record Readers I have visited have answered specific questions, Wetzel’s clients come in with an overall area they want information about. She then opens her mind up to viewing their past lives as if she is watching a movie.

I found myself looking at life with a broader perspective and a new understanding of karmic ties and cycles.

If you have an interest in past life therapy, read Akashic Records: Case Studies of Past Lives by Lois Wetzel.

Downward Dog, Upward Fog–meet Meryl Davids Landau

Meryl Davids LandauMeryl Davids Landau makes her fiction debut with Downward Dog, Upward Fog, a book that was just nominated as a General Fiction Book of the Year Finalist by Foreword Reviews. She is a certified yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner, and has written many articles for national publications, including O, the Oprah magazine, Reader’s Digest, U.S. News & World Report, Huffington Post and Whole Living. Her writing has won several awards, and was a finalist for a prestigious National Magazine Award.

DT: Thanks for being at Supernal Living today, Meryl. Can you tell us how you approach spirituality in your novel?Downward Dog, Upward Fog

MDL: Everyone on any kind of spiritual path knows there’s a huge difference—a chasm, really– between knowing spiritual principles in your head and living them in your life. My own personal challenges with that became the springboard for the book, where my main character, Lorna, grapples with an awful mother, wacky coworkers, and then a family crisis after she discovers yoga and other spiritual pursuits.

The book is fun women’s fiction, but the plot revolves completely around how Lorna handles the challenging people and situations all around her—and the answer is, not always perfectly. Readers who are very familiar with yoga, meditation, mindfulness, forgiveness and other spiritual practices tell me they enjoy seeing their passions reflected in a novel. But it’s also been great for me to hear from readers who are using the book as an introduction to spiritual principles, since Lorna discovers many teachings, teachers and approaches as the novel unfolds.

One thing Lorna does not do is discover enlightenment via a trip to Bali or India or the Aztecs. Books to delicious places like that can be great fun, but the main question I want the novel to address is one the rest of us face in our real life: how do you maintain your spiritual center at the office, in the grocery store, with your workaholic boyfriend or hypercritical mother? The reader roots for Lorna to figure it out—and, I suspect, for herself to do so, too.

Book description: Lorna Crawford has a great boyfriend, longtime friends, and a well-paying job as special-events coordinator at a premium ice-cream manufacturer. But, out of sorts and filled with self-doubt, the 33 year old soon realizes that what she really wants is to stay on the spiritual path she keeps diving off of. Lorna jump-starts her efforts at a silent yoga retreat. But after returning from the mountain, she quickly loses her connection in the face of scheming coworkers, judgmental girlfriends, and, especially, her overly critical mother. Lorna also wrestles over her future with her boyfriend, a hot guy who takes her to the hottest places, but who can’t discern a meditation cushion from a toad stool. Reading spiritual books and visiting a channeler and energy healer move Lorna forward, but her confusion remains. Lorna’s seeking is put to the ultimate test when personal tragedy strikes. Will she come to truly understand that living spiritually has little to do with how you pretzel yourself on the yoga mat (although she gets plenty good at that), and everything to do with embracing the twists in everyday life?

Battle germs with essential oils

REVISED: January 2020
Something is definitely in the air, and I’m not talking about L-O-V-E. The coronavirus is front pages news right now. Seems a good time to revisit some commonsense ways a family can protect themselves from viruses circling the globe. The human immune system has a marvelous capacity to attack and overcome viral and bacterial invasions everyday. No need to panic. Just be smart. Use good basic hygiene. Always wash hands after public exposure and wear a face mask if the flu is reported in your area. If someone is ill in your home, keep a bowl of water and bleach standing. Always dip your hands in the solution after being in the sick room. Here are my go-to essential oils. My family has used Young Living Essential Oils since the early 1990’s. There are probably other good brands on the market, but Young Living has served us well.
Protect your family with some basic products.

Young Living Essential Oils

Essential oils can be your secret weapon against all the nasties in the air. Why? They kill viruses and bacteria; boost the immune system; energize the body. Young Living is the trusted brand I’ve been using for twenty years. Here are two basic products that should be in every medicine cabinet.
Purification is a citronella and melaleuca based blend that enhances the body’s natural immune system. It has a pleasant smell and can be applied before heading out into crowds. Rub it on the neck and hands. A couple drops in bath water adds a therapeutic boost to the cleansing process. Use daily and especially at the first sign of illness. See Product Details. I keep Purification in my purse at all times. When I fly, I always rub some drops on my neck and hands to ward off contagion from fellow travelers. It is also healing to insect bites and scrapes,
Thieves is a “hotter” blend that contains clove and cinnamon oil. The blend is named for robbers of dead bodies during the Black Plague in Europe. According to legend, the thieves could strip corpses of valuables and not fall ill themselves. After they were arrested, they revealed themselves as perfumers who knew the protective power of essential oils. The Young Living product is based on that centuries-old formula. Pleasantly pungent, Thieves delivers the one-two punch to germs. Rubbing on the bottom of feet infuses the whole system with healing properties.  Product details.
Peppermint Oil is an excellent oil to keep on hand. Rubbed onto sore muscles, it tingles and relaxes the area. A drop in the palm of the hands and then cupped under the nose, opens stuffy air passages. A drop in the navel combats nausea, as does inhalation of fumes. It freshens and cleans the air of a musty room. Product details
Essential oils can be used on small children. If there is a sensation of burning, apply some hand lotion to dilute. Rubbing oils onto the bottom of feet after a shower will deliver the benefits to the whole body. Oils can also be used in diffusers or simply inhaled by placing some drops in the palm of the hand and inhaling the fumes.
If you don’t know a Young Living distributor in your area, you can order products using my Dana Taylor membership number 57763 at Young Living

Angels in the Living Room

I guess you could call me a “hobbyist healer.” My friends and I get together and when some gals might go shopping, we visit a while and then quietly meditate and “send energy” in what we’ve come to call our Supernal Sessions. Increasingly, we’ve come to sense the presence of helpers, or spiritual team members–Angels, perhaps. So when I saw the book QUANTUM ANGEL HEALING by Eva-Maria Mora, I thought it might shed light on what is happening in my living room.

Quantum Angel Healing: Energy Therapy and Communication with AngelsEva-Maria Mora is a certified Quantum Touch energy healer and founder of Quantum Angel Healing, offering classes and certification in the technique.  I appreciated that she began the book by asking the question of clients–“How does this illness serve you?” I remain a “hobbyist healer” because I discovered long ago that many people don’t really want to be well.

The book is well organized and carries much of the information familiar to energy workers–chakras, auras, crystals, cleansing, prayer, and emotional connections to illness. There is a definite shamanistic influence to the material. She takes it a step further by introducing a cast of Angelic characters–naming them and associating them with energy centers of the body and specific disorders. She identifies them and even nicknames by their greater functions–i.e. Ariel is the Greenpeace angel because she can clean intervene in enviornmental problems. Raphael is the healing angel and helps people get over emotional wounds.

She offers exercises to break down mental barriers and open communication with the angels. One such technique is called the Angel Breath. I practiced this and felt it did seem to widen my sense of connection. Obviously, the material in the book will be suspect in many people’s minds. It is unfamiliar and feels like pure fantasy. The Supernal friends got into a lively discussion about it.

“How does she know all this stuff?” Sue asked.

“I guess her guide, Zohar, gave her all the information,” I replied. “I don’t know. It’s just interesting. I’m not saying it’s infallible Truth.”

So, if you are fascinated by the unseen dimensions of quantum healing and open to the idea of angelic helpers, QUANTUM ANGEL HEALING, will continue on your journey of exploration. And I’m being polite to the angels, just in case they’re actually hanging out in my living room.

The Divine Arsonist, a tale of Awakening

The Divine Arsonist: A Tale of AwakeningMy guest reviewer is author, shaman, and energy healer, Carol Woodliff. She is one several wonderful people I met through the Next Top Spiritual Author competition held a couple of years back. Jacob Norby is another of the authors who has become a friend. Here Carol offers her review of Jacob’s just released novel, The Divine Arsonist, a Tale of Awakening.

The Divine Arsonist by Jacob Norby is the story of a businessman who worked hard to climb the ladder of success only to have something whisper to him that perhaps there was something more to discover.  This is his journey of discovery told in a blend of the personal story and fiction.  It immediately spoke to me of the question:  When do we start dreaming a new dream for ourselves and our world?   The old ways are burning us out.  That’s where Jacob is at the beginning of his journey.  There are so many elements of a shamanic journey, vision quest or hero’s journey from old mythology: meeting spiritual guides, being challenged to endure rites of passage, time in the wilderness, facing the shadow and opening to all the levels of reality beyond our day-to-day “get it done” consciousness.  The writing is luscious, descriptive and an easy read.  I could have easily read it in one sitting but I forced myself to turn off the light at night and savor it over the course of several bedtime reading sessions.  There are beautiful teachings that you want to grab the highlighter to remember.

Jacob’s journey toward finding his light is an invitation or challenge to go on your own journey, to claim your own light.  It is a tale that reminds us that life is short and that we are choosing the world we live in right now with each thought and each action we take. It is a story that reminds us that sometimes we have to let go of everything that we think we know to become the person we came to earth to be. Even though I’ve had my own awakening moments, Jacob’s writing made me want to commit to living them on an even deeper level. Isn’t that what we want a spiritual book to do?

I highly recommend Jacob’s book.  I hope you give it a read.  You can buy The Divine Arsonist on Amazon either in book form or Kindle.

Jacob Nordby is an author, speaker and personal transformation mentor. He is published with Jack Canfield in Pearls of Wisdom: 30 Inspirational Ideas to Live Your Best Life Now“, with Dr. Bernie M. Intriguing “Runaway Choices”

Runaway Choices - A Christian Speculative Fiction NovelRunaway Choices: A Christian Speculative Novel by Eisley Jacobs is a wonderful example of Indie author creativity. Mixing a Twilight Zone technique with a subtle spiritual message, Jacobs plunges her heroine, Beck, into a fascinating adventure.

Plot Description: Everyone runs from their past; Beck has it mastered. She’s been running for so long, stopping is a foreign concept. With her conning skills and wits at the ready, she’s on a plane to London, free of charge.

Beck believes everything is going as planned, but when reality twists on its axis, she soon wonders whose plan? Teaming up with the gorgeous bellhop, Colin, is a no brainer, especially when they discover their connections are anything but accidental.

In their quest for answers, both are confronted with the demons of their pasts. Beck panics and does what comes naturally — runs. However, she’s not only running from herself, but from the superhuman who has made it his life’s goal to track her down and either remove her from the equation or convince her to join him.

I enjoyed the tale on many levels. First, it is different; not the same story I’ve read a million times. Second, the writing is smooth without the hiccups often seen in Indie authors. Third, Jacobs manages to tell a story with a spiritual message without beating us over the head with message. Using mystical elements and a McGuffin magical necklace, she keeps a plot spinning as Beck learns life lessons. All in all, an interesting excursion into a Rod Serling-like spiritual adventure.
