The Gift of Cancer experienced by Anita Moorjani

Reiki has gained national acceptance largely through the endorsement of many hospitals recommending energy treatments for cancer patients. Being infused with healing energy helps counteract the detrimental affects of standard medical treatments. Lately, my therapy table has been all too busy with friends and clients dealing with cancer issues. The good news is  many are moving beyond the shock of a cancer diagnosis to  pro-active holistic steps to improve health through mind, body, and spirit transformation.

I was loaned a copy of DYING TO BE ME by Anita Moorjani this week and I highly recommend it for anyone, not just people dealing with cancer.

Moorjani has been to hell and heaven and back. A four year battle with lymphoma finally led to a coma and near death experience (NDE) on February 2, 2006. However, that was anything but “the end.” In fact it was just the beginning. Moorjani experienced an expansion of consciousness in her comatose state. She connected with doctors, nurses, family, spirits, and the cosmos. She moved beyond linear time. From the spirit world she met her father and best friend who guided her and counseled her to return to the earth plane and bring her body back to life. Her work was not finished.

Moorjani’s healing was as amazing as Eben Alexander’s PROOF OF HEAVEN tale. While both books amaze and encourage, Moorjani’s book carries a much more passionate message about life itself. She had been an average woman, raised in cross-cultures of Hong Kong, molded by the fears and insecurities common in the human experience. Her return from the brink of death not only transformed her body, but her complete understanding of what life is all about. She was told to go back and “live fearlessly.”

Don’t wait to get cancer to embrace her message. Pick up a copy of DYING TO BE ME by Anita Moorjani and be inspired to live life to the fullest.

Backache Relief with Energy Healing

Dana by Dana Taylor

Have you got the low miseries with back aches? If popping pain meds isn’t doing the trick, try boosting your natural healing abilities by thinking energetically. Your body is designed to heal. Here are some actions you can take to move toward wellness.

  1. Epsom Salt Bathsepsom saltThe magnesium in the salts is anti-inflammatory. The hot water helps release tension and stimulates the natural flow of body fluids to aid in healing.
  2. Young Living Essential OilsValor is sometimes called a “chiropractor in a bottle.” The blend of spruce, rosewood, blue tansy, and frankincense aids in the energy alignment of the body. The aroma is also very soothing. Layer peppermint on top for what I call “a massage in a bottle.” The stimulating effect of peppermint oil really kicks healing energy into action.
  3. Healing Energyenergy handsHealing energy frequencies are flowing around us, all the time. As a Reiki practitioner, I’ve learned how to consistently tap into them. But, anyone can get into the flow with some practice. Sit quietly and imagine a light beam from the heavens shining into the head and running  through the body. Our energy centers will open to the higher energies, like absorbing unseen, but very real rays of the sun.
  4. Enzyme Rich FoodsCooked foods are dead foods. Life begets life. Most of us don’t have nearly the enzyme activity needed from our food to provide the energy for optimum health. Healing requires extra energy. So, bump up your enzymatic activity by eating more raw, live food and whole food supplements. I recommend juicing and a quality supplement like Green Vibrance. Give your body the building blocks of nutrition it needs to heal itself.
  5. Examine your Emotions–often back problems have a relationship to “carrying troubles.” Be honest with yourself about the conflicts in your life. There may be a connection between that aching back and emotional pain, anger, or unforgiveness. If you can’t clear those emotional blockages on your own, seek a therapist who will help you work through them.

Be pro-active about your health and enjoy all that life has to offer.

Wishing you well–

Tuning into Sound Therapy

“Sound is the medicine of the future”—Edgar Cayce

Sound is energy; Sound is Color; Sound is Form; Sound Transforms Form; Sound Can Heal

by Dana Taylor

As someone who works with healing energy, I’ve developed a rudimentary understanding that healing energy has a frequency wave. All sound also carries a frequency. Can sound waves be used for healing? It makes sense in my world. So, when the opportunity came up for me to take a seminar on Sound Therapy, I signed up for the course at the Learning Light Foundation in Anaheim, CA. Debbie Nuccio Durrough teaches many modalities of energy healing in the Southern California area. Her website, Tune Into Sound, presents a treasure trove of educational information about a variety of healing-related subjects. Debbie presented an overview of the various tools of sound used by healers to promote wellness in their clients.

Tibetan Tingshas—These cymbals date back to ancient times and have been used in healing, ceremonies, and meditation for centuries. They were a new experience for me. Their pleasant full-toned ring permeated the air. Debbie tapped them together to initiate the tone over a volunteer lying on a massage table. Used as an awareness tool, it was interesting to hear the tone “wobble” over areas that needed healing. Fascinating!

Singing Bowls—Made out of opaque glass or metal, these bowls can be played to produce an amazing array of tones. Incorporated intuitively be a healer, the possibilities to aid healing are intriguing. I need to start my collection!

Tuning ForksThe frequency of a tuning fork is very specific and tangible. I purchased an OM tuning fork, which is set at 136.10 Hz. The tone can be heard by the ear; the waves can be felt by the body. These are powerful tools to inject frequencies directly into a client, either over specific organs or at reflexology points on the hands and feet. They aren’t to be used carelessly. Healers should receive Tuning Fork Safety Protocol Training before implementing them in a healing practice, as they are not appropriate for everybody. People with steel implants, stints, or pacemakers may have them disturbed. Pregnant women might go into labor. Used properly, a tuning fork can be employed as an effective therapeutic tool.

I’ve been playing with the one I purchased on myself. It’s interesting to “feel” the energy waves as I pass it over my body after “inviting” it on a rubber hockey puck that serves as the “striker.” There are palpable differences over areas where I’ve had injuries. I’m applying it on the reflexology areas on my palm to treat certain organ systems. I can see that it would be efficacious in releasing blockages in the energy flow.

Drums–While Debbie only touched on the area of drumming (they are a whole other learning curve in themselves), she demonstrated the ocean drum she uses as she begins her healing sessions. Hundreds of bebes are sealed into the well of a hand-held drum. As they roll across the surface of the drum, they sound like ocean waves or rain falling, excellent for inducing a meditative state.

On the table–I volunteered to be the client as Debbie demonstrated all the sound therapy tools. First the ocean drum hummed over my body; next the tingsha cymbals scanned, revealing a dodgy knee and an area of concern  in the abdominal region. Debbie stimulated those areas with the tuning fork, along with applying the vibrating rod to reflexology points. She finished up by running Reiki energy from head to toe. Wow, I got the full treatment! Not surprisingly, afterwards I was thirsty and tired–sure signs of cleansing and healing. I slept like a rock that night.

Summary: Sound Therapy is an area of worthy of exploration in the ever-growing field of holistic medicine. Here are some links to related articles on Sound Therapy altMD, EHowHealth, Singing Bowls, Tuning Fork Therapy

Opening Chakras with The Lord’s Prayer

Dana by Dana Taylor

What’s the deal with chakras? For some people they are as tangible a part of their body as a hand or foot. For others they are a strange Eastern concept, as fanciful as fairies, vaguely having something to do with yoga. For many years I was in the second category, but along the way, as I came to understand more about energy and health, I set off in search of my chakras.

the_LORDs_prayer_clipart.162200811_std[1]

There are many helpful books on the subjects, but I’ll give you Cliff-notes version here. “Chakra” comes from the Sanskrit meaning “wheel, ” used in yoga to describe energy centers of the human body. Seven main chakras run from the groin to the top of the head. Colors, vibrational frequencies, and organ systems are associated with them in Eastern medicine. Balanced, clean chakras are necessary for optimal health. The chakras also serve as communication paths for connection to the Divine.

Many meditation techniques teach visualization methods for finding the chakras—focus on each center and send a ray of colored light up the body. One sleepless night a couple of decades ago, I didn’t have anything better to do than look for my chakras. I remember lying in bed, focusing on the base of my body (root chakra), picturing red color filling a spinning disc. Darned, if I didn’t actually feel an awareness.  So I kept moving up. Here are the basic chakra centers and corresponding colors:

chakras[1]

Sensing energy centers is part of my work as a Reiki therapist. One method to open chakras that is more Western-friendly, is using the Lord’s Prayer. Dana Williams’ The Lord’s Prayer, The Seven Chakras, The Twelve Life Paths covers a lot of territory, including astrology. Her segment on The Lord’s Prayer caught my attention. The technique is also mentioned in The Healing Spot by Jan Phillip Holland, Ph.D., M.Ht.

Lately, I’ve been opening my prayer/mediation times in this manner, using the Lord’s Prayer from the top chakra down to get the energy channels moving and connected to Spirit. Here’s a brief example:

Our Father who art in heaven—white light above the head

Hallowed be thy name—purple light beaming into the forehead

Thy kingdom come—blue light to the throat

Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven—green light opens the heart

Give us this day our daily bread—yellow light feeds the stomach

Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors—orange light below the belly button

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil—red light to the sexual centers

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen—run the energy into the earth down for grounding

If you take the time to ponder the phrases, with the functions of the associated parts of the body, both physically and spiritually, you’ll see fascinating correlations. And if you really hunker down, you’ll get in touch with those mysterious spinning chakras. Energy will pulse, expand, feel warm and ultimately give you a sense of connection to God. It’s a great way to start your day.

Below is a guided meditation from Dr. Moses Nasser that incorporates The Lord’s Prayer in stimulating energy centers and promoting healing.

The Power of Sacred Geometry

4th in a series on the Akashic Records

metatron cube

metatron cube

I’ll wrap up these blogs on the Akashic Records with the interesting insights I received about sacred geometry. Eight years ago I received my first Reiki attunement and later, received levels II & III. Each attunement represents absorbing a healing frequency, accompanied by a sacred symbol, passed on by Reiki Masters. Beyond those standard attunements, I’ve received countless spontaneous attunements during prayer circles with my Supernal Friends. One of the friends asks permission to impart the latest attunement and it always involves certain symbols being traced on our palms and sometimes foreheads.

So, what’s the deal with the symbols? Because my experience has been overwhelmingly positive in healing energy, I’ve adopted an in-for-penny-in-for-a-pound attitude. I always accept the attunement, but I haven’t truly grasped the significance of the symbols. Lately, in meditation time, I’ve seen three-dimension symbols, often glowing colored lights. As Alice in Wonderland would say, “Curiouser and curiouser.”

Last week as I was practicing my new discipline of connecting with the guardians of the Akashic Records, I wondered about these mysterious symbols. Here are the thoughts I wrote down:

We will teach you about sacred geometry. The symbols act as connections between one dimension and the next. They each have a unique frequency that is absorbed by the person who receives them through the attunement process. The symbols can also be embedded in books, music, plants, and objects. The ancient people knew this and carved them in stone to raise the vibrations of their communities. We will give you sacred geometry as you work as a therapist to bring clarity and raise the frequency of your clients. That is all.

Interesting, isn’t it? There is so much to learn.

Christianity and Reiki

There are the sayings, “like attracts like” and “birds of a feather flock together.” I’ve found in my Reiki practice and the responses to Ever-Flowing Streams: Christ, Reiki, Reincarnation and Me that I am attracting people grounded in a Christian tradition, but willing to think outside the box. Much of Ever-Flowing Streams chronicles my pursuit of knowledge about energy healing within the Christian culture. Can a Christian comfortably visit or become a Reiki therapist? Let’s get some perspective on the issue.

Reiki_Symbol

  • Reiki is not a religion. People of many religious affiliations or no religious affiliations are participating in the energy healing movement. Its roots come from Japan and an Eastern world view, but it is utilizing universal energies—like electricity.
  • Are there “magic” symbols? The symbols in Reiki have specific meanings and many are Japanese words or phrases. They are used as meditation focus points to enable the practitioner to concentrate a healing intention, such as sending distance healing. The idea of “magic” is primarily a Western concept that arises from Occult activity. Reiki symbols are more akin to mediating and quieting the mind toward a certain goal. Reiki symbols are part of Sacred Geometry, carrying healing energetic frequencies.
  • Where does the healing power come from? The same question was asked of Jesus Christ when he walked the earth and healed the multitudes. Some accused him of being in league with the Devil. He knew how to use the universal healing energies in a very efficient manner. I began studying energy healing within the church and simply kept learning. The Reiki energies come from another dimension, unseen to the human eye, but quite real. As humans evolve and become multi-sensory, access to these energies and the intelligence behind them will become more common.

Personally, I consider myself a follower of Christ and the expansion into energy work is a further manifestation of living out my spiritual path. However, I don’t press my religious beliefs on clients.  Energy work encompasses transmitting healing vibrations into the subtle (energetic ) body of the client. The practitioner may also pick up information, such as sensing that an organ is stressed, like a low thyroid. The energies emitted are utilized by the client to the best of their ability to assimilate it. None of this activity is tied to a religion.
