Send Healing Energy to the Departed and Their Loved Ones

Part Three in a Series

by Dana Taylor
A close friend of mine, Thom, lost his long-time partner, Wayne, three months ago. Wayne’s passing was not a really a shock. He was 79 years old and in frail health. As parting experiences go, Thom and Wayne were a more fortunate couple than many. They had spent months in seclusion avoiding Covid-19 in their lovely island home. Over the summer, Wayne had been strong enough to nurture his beloved vegetable garden. Thom posted pictures of Wayne’s impressive heirloom tomatoes for Facebook friends to see. One fateful fall morning, Thom got up early to head downstairs to make their coffee and let Jake, their dog, outside for a while. When he returned to their bedroom, he found Wayne collapsed and unconscious from a stroke.

For Thom, the day tilted into a surreal jumble of ambulances, medivac helicopters, phone calls to Wayne’s children, doctor updates and a dash to the hospital. By seven o’clock that evening, Thom and the family circled the hospital bed and said goodbye as Wayne took his last breath. In many ways, it was a beautiful passing. A gentle passing. For Thom, it was the beginning of the unavoidable journey through grief.

Power of Prayer Beyond Death

We’re living in an era of death and grieving. As a spiritually aware person and energy healer, I consider praying for the departed and their families an extension of the healing work I do. I firmly believe death is not an end but a transformation from physical to non-physical. It’s a birth. And I’ve been in enough birthing rooms to know it’s not an easy process. Certainly life outside the womb is a big adjustment for a newborn. I suspect there’s a corresponding birthing process to other dimensions that is equally taxing and sometimes traumatic. (See my post Conversations with the Afterlife.)
The classic books by Dr. Michael Newton, Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls, give us a glimpse of life-between-lives through hypnosis sessions with his patients. It appears the afterlife is far more complicated than a gentle reunion with loved ones or meeting an angel and dwelling forever in clouds and playing a harp. Our consciousness moves into other dimensions and often requires healing after traumatic passings or difficult lives. Even people who led fairly happy lives go through pangs of separation.
Healing prayers from those of us on the earthly plane aid in the transitional process. Prayers project power and frequency into other dimensions as surely as they do in our familiar three dimensional reality. My Supernal Friend, Sue, has a practice of praying for departed souls for a year after their transition. She asks for divine helpers to aid their adjustment and bring them peace for their grieving process of the life they left behind. Her efforts have been validated in messages from the other side through mediums. My husband, David, once came through unexpectedly to thank her for her prayers. His gratitude surprised us, because they’d shared an uneasy relationship on this side of the veil.

Healing for the Bereaved

Healing energy for people going through the very real wounds of grief is entirely appropriate. Humans truly bond at an energetic level. We create cords of attachment. Death severs those cords as surely as cutting off an arm. The term “broken heart” is literal. Deep grief can trigger a myriad of physical problems. (See article Physical Symptoms of Grief.)
Six months after my husband’s death, the grief hit me. A sadness I couldn’t ignore or simply talk away. I was fortunate to have a network of energy healers to help me through. Reiki treatments and massages from a gifted energy healer helped me rise out of the depths of my despair. David and I were granted one lucid dream encounter to say goodbye. (See Grace Through Grief: Six Months After My Husband’s Passing)
In this age of massive Covid deaths, helping people through grief is crucial. Reaching out to our friends and family with prayers, presents, cards and more is something we should all be doing.
The veil between this life and the next is becoming thinner all the time. Netflix has a new series entitled SURVIVING DEATH that explores the various avenues of afterlife communication. Interviews with mediums, ghost hunters, and reincarnation experts all raise tantalizing questions about life after death. For people suffering the worst throes of grief, it’s comforting to think their loved one still exists at some level. But there is no denying the loss of the physical presence. The departed are sorely missed. (Watch SURVIVING DEATH TRAILER)
Grief hit Thom hard. He lost thirty pounds the first six weeks. His normally ebullient personality couldn’t overcome the sadness. But, he is working through it with the help of a network of friends. The outpouring of flowers, gifts, phone calls and messages helped. Jake, their Australian shepherd, has been a comforting companion and faithful walking partner. Wayne’s grandsons visited to clean the garden and chop wood for the fireplace. Thom knows many people love him and wish him well. He will always miss Wayne, but in a million memories and otherworldly moments of awareness, he knows at some level, Wayne is always with him. He is now making plans for the future.
This era of sadness is also an opportunity for all of us to reach out and do something for someone else. Discover the power of your prayers to help others. By serving each other, we can rise out of our collective grief. Only then will we build a better future for ourselves and generations to come.

Past Life Therapy DIY

Those of you who have read my spiritual memoir, Ever-Flowing Streams: Christ, Reiki, Reincarnation and Me, know that my health and world view changed dramatically after a Reiki therapist revealed a past life bond casting a long shadow across my present life.

Though I wasn’t seeking past life therapy, it found me in a round about way, and it made all the difference. Emerging avenues of past life therapy are now available through the pioneering work of Dr. Brian Weiss (Many Masters, Many Lives), Dr. Michael Newton (Destiny of Souls), Dolores Cannon (QHHT), Dr. Jim Tucker (Return to Life: Extraordinary Cases of Children Who Remember Past Lives) and the practitioners who have followed in their footsteps. In a more esoteric realm, channeled messages through Lee Carroll by the collective entities known as Kryon often teach about the past lives and the Akashic Records. Kryon encourages listeners to “mine their Akash” to discover a wealth of talents and knowledge acquired through the centuries of multiple life experiences.

Supernal AdventureI’ve not only become a Reiki practitioner myself, but also seek information from my own Akashic history. In my book, Supernal Adventures, a chapter is devoted to past life therapy and some of my experiences, including the one previously posted here as A Personal Past Life Regression.

Meditation, healing prayer, and distance healing are all part of my daily routine, but Akashic Record exploration, I reserve for Sunday mornings. It’s time for me and my  spiritual guide “team” to spend extra moments delving into current situations and age old questions like, why am I here? Using the method taught by Ernest Ortiz (see post Unravel Mysteries with Akashic Records Reading), I’ve had hit-and-miss success connecting with past life images. More often I’ve received advice and guidance and, occasionally, poetry. Going back and reading the messages is startling, because I barely remember what I’ve written.

Recently, I browsed YouTube and found guided past life meditations there. Last Sunday I plugged in my ear phones, got comfortable on the couch, and hit play for a 45 minute trip to another life. I set an intention ~ please show me a connection to the healing and care giving interest I have today. The audio was uploaded by Blue Sky Hypnosis.com and facilitated by Peter McLaughlin, CHT. Mr. McLaughlin is very professional and smoothly takes the listener “deeper and deeper.” By the time I had mentally walked down the stairs, through the meadow, over a footbridge and into a marble building, I was extremely focused. The listener is ultimately led to a hallway with many doors, each the entrance to a different life. Pick a door. Is the door wooden? Metal? Old? New? Today’s door looked like a hospital hall door, metal with a small window. I pushed through.

wwinurseThe first instructions are to “look down at your feet.” (Interestingly, my previous spontaneous past life memories began seeing my feet and hands and thinking those aren’t mine.) In this session, I saw stiff Oxford shoes and legs covered in woolen stockings walking down a polished hardwood floor. The facilitator asks detailed questions to bring the picture into focus. My identity emerged as a nurse in a private home in England in 1908. I was the care giver for a frail, but lively spirited elderly woman. The house was not large, but furnished well, with many oil paintings on the walls. The woman and I shared poignant days that we knew would be her last. It was a cocoon of time.

The facilitator’s questions jumped my mind to other situations:

Go to an evening meal. Where are you? Who is with you? In this case I was sitting alone in my room eating soup with a piece of hearty bread.

Go to the happiest moment of that life. What is happening? I caught a brief glimpse of being a child at a happy family outside gathering. Everyone was seated around a big table, having a merry time.

Go to the most significant event of this lifetime. What’s happening? What do you see? I was on a cold, grey beach. Other people were scattered up the shore. We were all fully dressed. Debris and bodies were washing up on the shore from a passenger ship that had sunk during a rough storm. I stood there wondering what exactly I should do, feeling helpless and overwhelmed by the horrifying loss of life.

What did I take away from that life time? My innate healing talents today were nurtured in that life experience as a nurse. My distrust of doctors also grew as I observed questionable treatments and arrogant attitudes. I learned to follow my healing instincts and developed a common sense approach to wellness. My ability to calmly sit with the ill and dying has a foundation in that experience.

               ***

While the YouTube experience is enlightening, it doesn’t take the place of a full therapy session with a qualified therapist. That may take several hours to explore the nuances of visited lifetimes and discover the roots of issues affecting the present lifetime. Still, for the curiosity seeker, it can be an introduction to discovering a wealth of self-discovery just waiting to be explored.

The Supernal Adventure continues!

Bright Blessings ~

Past-Life Therapy is a Thing

Part Three in a series on Past Lives

Science and psychology is now taking a fresh look at the concept of reincarnation and how it may influence our lives. Two doctors, their work, and books have played a large role in the developing field of past life therapy. The books below are now considered “classics” and make for fascinating reading. They may shift your paradigms!

Many Lives, Many Masters by

Brian L. Weiss, M.D.

As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His skepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from the “space between lives,” which contained remarkable revelations about Dr. Weiss’ family and his dead son. Using past-life therapy, he was able to cure the patient and embark on a new, more meaningful phase of his own career.

Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls by

Michael Newton, Ph.D

Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton, Ph.D., contains interviews given by people
under hypnosis discussing their experiences between lives on
earth.  Dr. Newton holds a doctorate in counseling and is a master
hypnotherapist. This book is based on his groundbreaking research into the
afterlife.
Subjects explored:
– Your purpose on Earth
–  Soul mates
– How spirits connect with and comfort the living
– Spirit guides
– The Council of Elders that interviews us between lives
– Why people choose a certain body to incarnate into
– What souls do between lives
All of these books make for fascinating reading!
