Sensational, Spiritual Sex

Danaheadshot by Dana Taylor
“When I make love, I’m giving myself to that person body and spirit. I absorb a part of him and he takes away a part of me. If I had sex with a lot of different people, it would be like losing pieces of myself that I can’t ever get back. If I’m making love with the same person over and over, then we’re becoming closer and closer, becoming spiritually and emotionally bonded.” Persephone Jones, Ain’t Love Grand?
Interestingly, that’s the most highlighted paragraph by readers of my first novel, Ain’t Love GrandOur entertainment industry and media circus blasts us with the sexual sell. Lots of beautiful bodies rubbing against each other. Our headlines are filled with the dark side of sex–sexual abuse, pornography, pedophiles, disgraced clergy and politicians, the list goes on and on. Everyone is lookin’ for love in all the wrong places, as the song goes.

Despite all the hoopla, our Puritanical roots run deep. My daughter recently surprised me with a comment. She noted that in a Bible study class of the large midwestern church she attends, she was the only person in the room who said her mother talked to her openly and positively about sex from an early age.
Of course, I started my book writing career spinning out romantic novels. I’m definitely pro-sex. Mainly I’m pro-love.  Sexual connection is so much more than a body slam and exchange of fluids. So much more than a necessary act for procreation.
Sex is a quantum activity. A mind/body/spirit connection.
Taking it to the emotional level of making love, sex creates energetic bonds unlimited by time and space. Currently a YouTube video is making the rounds showing the emotional impact of 30 year old love affair, long over but obviously not forgotten. The fact that this one moment captured on film resonates with millions of people, illustrates the deep, timeless bonds of love and sex.

There’s nothing casual about sex.
Having meaningless, multiple encounters is simply giving sections of yourself away, never to be whole again. A part of you drifts off attached to a stranger. You become a jigsaw  puzzle with missing pieces. Sex shouldn’t be commodity, something to barter, although historically often women haven’t had anything else to sell. Prostitution isn’t called the oldest profession for nothing. It’s also part of the old energy.
We should be teaching our children the joy of love and sex. Appropriate behavior should be discussed early and openly. Take a look at how children in The Netherlands are taught:
Sex and Spirituality
Deepak Chopra wrote an article listing 12 Insights into Sex and Spirituality. My personal favorites:
  • Bliss, carefreeness and playfulness are the essence of sex.
  • Sexual energy is the primal and creative energy of the universe. All things that are alive come from sexual energy. In animals and other life forms, sexual energy expresses itself as biological creativity. In humans, sexual energy can be creative at all levels — physical, emotional and spiritual. In any situation — where we feel attraction, arousal, awakening, alertness, passion, interest, inspiration, excitement, creativity, enthusiasm — in each of these situations, sexual energy is at work. Whenever we feel these states of awareness, we must put our attention on the energy that we are experiencing, nourishing it with our attention, experiencing it with joy and keeping it alive in our awareness.
  • Meaningful sex has to be value based. Values are personal. Each situation that has sexual energy in it, involves the whole human being and their entire value system. My values may be different from yours, and I have no right to be the moral judge of anyone’s values. It is important, however, to have core values, and respect them. Without values, we become spiritually bankrupt. Sexual experience will never cause problems and will always be joyful, if lovers share the same values.
  • True intimacy is union between flesh and flesh, between subtle body and subtle body, between soul and soul. Sexual energy is sacred energy. When we have restored the sexual experience to the realm of the sacred, our world will be chaste and divine, holy and healed.
As our world view shifts and we come to understand that everything is energy, we need to explore basic sexual energy, its power, beauty, and strength. Great sex is a spiritual experience. Auric fields overlap, energy explodes and bonds. The colors behind your eyes reflect the very real spectrum of  colliding auric lights, lover to lover. Quantum fireworks.
Definitely part of the Supernal Adventure!
Wishing you beautiful lovers,
Dana Taylor

I met Dana through the Visionary Fiction Alliance and recently enjoyed reading her book, Ever-Flowing Streams: Tapping intoHealing Energy. She is an award winning author and healer. Her book describes her journey as a healer in the Christian tradition and how she eventually became a Reiki practitioner. Although I will focus on her non-fiction book, Dana also has several novels available. Today I welcome her to talk about her work and life experience.

Thank you, Ellis, for inviting me to chat today. These days my life involves writing, healing, and enjoying what I call the Supernal Adventure as we’ve entered this amazing post-2012 cosmic era.

Tapping400

Do you see healing as a calling or can anyone train to become a healer?

Both. Some people incarnate with a life mission primarily geared toward healing in some capacity. However, learning to channel healing energy is something everyone can learn. As…

GAIAM TV For the Supernal Adventurer

th-2I recently purchased an Amazon Fire Stick that turned my plain old basic cable into a major entertainment center. Unfortunately, despite having thousands of Amazon video, NetFlix, PBS, and TED Talks to choose from, I still wasn’t feeling the love. There’s only so much murder, sex, profanity, lectures, animal videos, and stupid human behavior I can take.

What’s a Supernal Girl to do? Download GAIAMTV.COM! Gaiam has grown from a fitness video company to a major producer of transformational programming. For the same $8 monthly cost as Netflix, you can view the quirky, quantum, and cosmic. There is also a variety of full length movies with spiritual themes. Plus, the Gaiam Yoga library is available to stream, which is great. No more moving to the same DVD over and over until it freezes and dies.

Some of the programs are unpolished and low budget, but slick isn’t always better. Intriguing information can be delivered on a white board with markers and a brilliant mind. If you don’t like one program, you can jump to another.

Choose from:

Gaiam_Open-Minds_Regina-MeredithSo far I have enjoyed Open Minds with Regina Meredith the most. She is a good interviewer, sort of the New Age Diane Sawyer. I watched a mind-blowing conversation on walk-ins and another about a dark pyramid buried in Alaska that could power a country the size of Canada. Fascinating!

Let me state that I don’t believe everything I see as absolute truth and some things are too far out of my current world view to embrace, but exploring new ideas keeps life interesting.

So, if you’re tired of the murder, mayhem, and mindless on other platforms, give GAIAM TV a try.

Have a joyful day!

THE CURIOUS CASE OF FRANCIS SCHLATTER: the Denver Messiah

Another fascinating article from Ellis Nelson.

ellisnelson's avatarellisnelson

Francis Schlatter

At the turn of the last century, a French cobbler took up residence in Denver. He was a quiet unassuming man who plied his trade until he had a transformative experience in which he was told by “the Father” to give up his business and devote his life to healing. He spent the next two years wandering the American West. His first efforts at healing began in California with the Indians of the San Jacinto Valley. By July 1895, he was in Albuquerque treating hundreds who gathered for his hands-on treatment.

Francis Schlatter lived simply refusing all forms of payment. He taught no new doctrine and healed by grasping the hands of the sufferer. Sometimes he was overheard to say The Lord’s Prayer, but a good portion of his healings was done in silence. He healed the blind, the deaf, the lame, and all sorts of maladies while…

Exit Points–Is there more than one appointed time to die?

My latest release, Supernal Adventures, weaves the experiences of my spiritual development circle with the fascinating subjects that arose during our meditation periods. Chapter 8 covers Pre-life Planning and Exit Points. Here is an excerpt:

Supernal AdventureAkashic Record readings revealed that we humans actually design a blue print for our lives before we are born. Key relationships and life challenges are set-up. How we respond to them makes for an ever-changing set of possibilities. Built into the blue print are possible Exit Points. Should life be too over-whelming, there are several opportunities embedded to depart and go back to spirit. Interesting concept, isn’t it? Very different from most of Western thinking.

Getting a heads up on an Exit Point may have prevented my Supernal friend, Sue, from taking one. Here is a journal entry from 2006:

Supernal Journals ~ September 20, 2006

Sue was very ill last week with a flu. I called her to check up on her. She said she was napping on the couch a lot. She sounded very weak, but said she was taking care of herself and turned down offers of help. She didn’t want anyone else to get ill, so Paula and I just kept calling.

On the third day in, she didn’t sound much better. She said, “I just had the strangest dream.”

“Oh, yeah, what was it?”

“I was driving on a freeway. I drove past Exit 53. I kept driving and then I passed another sign and it also said Exit 53. I drove and kept passing Exit 53. Isn’t that strange?” she said weakly.

Oh my gosh. Exit 53! Though Sue was too sick to remember or understand the message of the dream, I knew exactly what it meant. Last year Sue had an Akashic Records reading with Helen and asked about her exit points. Helen could see several exit points.

“I see ones at 19 and 28.” Sue recalled her car wreck at 19 and the emergency C-section at 28. In another era, she and her baby would have died.

“I see one at 53. Are you 54 now?” Helen had asked.

“I’m 52.” Hmmm….

Sue is now 53. Exit 53! She is sicker than she knows.

Paula and I alerted Sue’s adult children of the severity of her illness. Her son and daughter ignored her protestations of being a bother. Her son bought medication and hydrating drinks. Her daughter moved in for a couple of days and took charge of nursing. Indeed, Sue was running high fevers and even hallucinating for a while. Without intervention, she could have gotten deathly ill.

We thanked Spirit for giving us the information through Helen and dreams before she got on the offramp of Exit 53.

The best explanation I’ve found about Exit Points comes from channel Sheryl Pedersen providing information from a spirit guide called Lady of the Sun at her website Spirit Speaks. Here is an excerpt from Exit Points:

Most of you plan for exit points when you develop the outline of what you are coming to earth to do and experience. You can choose to leave or choose to stay depending on what is happening in your lives at the time and in the lives of those around you. For a leaving affects many other souls and needs to be carefully planned.

For many people, the exit point represents a time when your karma has been cleared and you have done and learned most of what you came here to do and learn. You have the option of returning to spirit, or staying here and creating a new life for yourself, having let go of the past and being free of karmic debt.

When you reach one of these exit points, you arrange to meet with your soul’s support team on the other side to discuss what to do, what is best for the soul at this point and what is best for those around them. Much discussion and planning takes place, but ultimately the individual soul makes a choice. Read the full article.

(end of excerpt)

Of course the idea of Exit Points and the concept that “the individual soul makes a choice” when to pass, raises a multitude of questions. Are fatal accidents not accidental at all? Do people choose to die in war, by violence, “pre-maturely,” via a dreadful disease? Are Near Death Experiences (NDE) Exit Points not taken?

As Ben Franklin said, “Nothing in this world can be said to be certain except death and taxes.” But perhaps, we do have some wiggle room on a soul level as to when we take our leave.

Do any of you know if you passed up an Exit Point?

Well, I’m not planning to make my exit any time soon. I’m enjoying the Supernal Adventure too much.

Have a great day–

Dana Taylor
