Create A Sacred Space for Sleep

by Dana Taylor
A few weeks ago my sleep was disturbed by annoying, bizarre dreams. One night I sat up about three a.m. and realized I was being psychically assaulted by mischievous entities. It wasn’t surprising as I’m currently involved in the founding of YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Santa Cruz. My daughter and son-in-law have heeded the spiritual call to the area to head up a YWAM base. While many doors have opened up to bring the shining light of YWAM ministry to the area, it has also stirred up established negative entities that have set up residence here for many years. Drug addiction, among other soul-sucking problems, are rife in Santa Cruz, despite the beautiful surrounding mountainous scenery. As the first class of YWAM Santa Cruz launched in early April, we noticed an array of obstacles and annoying distractions occurring on the campus with the staff.
That particular night at 3 a.m., I recognized the outside source of my dreams. While I’m not much on doing “spiritual battle,” as I believe that simply invites more “battle,” I do believe in taking spiritual authority. Creating a sacred space that is simply too high in frequency for lower entities and filled with heavenly hosts is more my style. That night in bed, I called on my spiritual guides and protectors to shield me from unwanted psychic assault. I told whatever was bothering me to please go toward the light and be released in love. My turbulent dreams disappeared.
Interestingly, I was soon led to a zoom class from the Theosophical Society led by Kurt Leland on creating sacred spaces. His lecture was very enlightening and thought provoking. Most people never think about the conflicting entities swirling around them. Consequently, their defenses are down and lower entities can just move right in, feeding on the energy of their unwitting hosts.
This experience inspired me to record a meditation to create a sacred sleeping space in both the physical and spiritual realms. Sleep should be a time of deep mental rest and bodily rejuvenation. Sadly, a good night’s sleep is rare in today’s world.
I’m happy to report that I’m sleeping much better. Each night I take conscious authority over my sleep cycle, plus I have followed the instructions from the Kurt Leland class to make my bedroom a high frequency sacred space.
I encourage you to explore the methods of creating your own sacred space. I hope this meditation will serve as a useful tool to enjoy the deep sleep you need to function at your highest potential and live your best life.
Bright Blessings, Dana

A Whale of a Mystical Experience

April is a month we give Mother Gaia a shout-out on the 22nd, officially proclaimed Earth Day. Spring flowers and Easter bunnies pull us out of the winter doldrums. Despite horrific headlines, a beautiful day is a balm to the soul and a beacon of hope.
While people dwell on land, this earth is mostly covered by oceans. It’s a unique water planet. The largest animals on the earth are the whales. The more scientists study whale populations, the more our human superiority is called into question. Their intelligence is becoming more apparent and impressive. Whales live in communities (pods). They’ve evidently evolved a sophisticated communication system of sonar signals and tail surface water slaps. Divers have reported being protected by whales from tiger sharks. Conversely, whales have sought out human assistance when tangled in fishing nets. Humans have long felt a spiritual kinship with whales and dolphins, which are classified as whales. The spiritual teacher, Kryon, channeled through Lee Carroll, has asserted that whales carry the Akashic history of the planet in their DNA. Now there’s a mystical notion.
I was fortunate to live on Hawaii for several years and enjoyed the thrill of whale season. Mothers and their calves cavort around the islands several months of the year. My apartment overlooked the ocean. Seeing a whale spout in the cove, followed by a glimpse of a breaching belly and tail enthralled me. Every time.
Undoubtedly, such moments served as the inspiration for the most vivid dream of my life. Most afternoons I rest for about forty-five minutes, usually listening to a Steve Nobel transmission on YouTube. That day was no different, except I slipped into some level consciousness I’ve rarely reached. I knew it was a dream. But the colors and details of the experience were vivid and sensual. I could see, feel, and smell.
In the dream, I visited Makapuu Beach, which was just a few miles around the coast. The water there is quite turbulent and in normal life, I would never brave it. But in the dream, I jumped right in and transformed into a creature of the sea. Soon, I felt the call of an old friend, a Guardian Whale. The emotional reunion with a soul I’d dearly missed still wells in my heart. From there my mystical adventure evolved. Ultimately, the Guardian imparted a telepathic message about Gaia and her place in the cosmos and the imperative need to respect and protect the planet.
My Guardian Whale Meditation shares the vision and the message of the dream. How wonderful it would be if humans would declare every day Earth Day and follow the wisdom of the greatest creatures on the planet. You are invited to sit back, relax and join me on the watery Supernal adventure. Aloha!

Take Heart! A Meditation for Courage and Heart Health

Producing audio meditations is an increasingly co-creative act with Spirit. A few weeks ago I began to have glimpses of a figure wrapped in a beautiful golden cloak imbued with ruby red jewels. One quiet Sunday morning, I decided to set up my recording equipment, go into the prayer zone and see what developed. The result is the Ruby Angel Meditation. Images of golden energy raining down the walls of the room began the mental journey, followed by the appearance of the Ruby Angel. What follows is a healing session for the heart, both physical and emotional.
The music I felt led to use by Jesse Gallagher has glittering moments of drama, but I am not very familiar with the track and was somewhat oblivious to it when I was making the recording. The sync of the drama of the meditation and the music is purely “coincidental.” Or is it? I’ll let you be the judge.
I hope those who listen to the meditation are greatly blessed. ~~ Dana

Wisdom of the Big Trees: Journey Through the Ancient Sequoias

I’m not exactly sure how it happened, but apparently, I have turned into a Matriarch. I went from having a couple of adorable grandchildren to suddenly having SIX! (Daughter #2 was a late bloomer). With the restraints of lockdown lifted, my daughters and I celebrated a week together with all six grands, ages 6 months to 13 years, in Northern California. The highlight of the visit was a trip to the Big Trees near Arnold, CA.

Though Native Americans, bears, deer and other creatures surely knew of the majestic sequoia (aka redwood) groves, the first European descendants discovered them in 1850 and the trees soon became a tourist attraction. Of course with typical marauder disregard for the sanctity for natural life, the largest tree was felled in 1853. Over 1,200 years of life was displayed as a traveling trophy; the stump turned into a dance floor. I danced on it with my grand kids last week, 168 years since its demise.

Fortunately for the trees and future generations of humans, naturalists like John Muir, Senator John Conness and others, banded together to protect the groves from lumber companies. In 1931, 6,498 acres were designated as Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Easy walking trails meander among the mixed conifers and stands of ancient sequoias. Rising to heights over 300 feet tall and living over 3,000 years, the giant redwoods inspire speechless awe in the beholder. Literally, no words can adequately describe and express their splendor or emotional impact. Many of the trees have been given names–Palace Hotel Tree, Empire State (so tall), Pioneer Cabin, and Mother of the Forest, which sadly stands today as a testament to man’s destruction of nature. In 1854 it was skinned alive of its bark so it could be shipped East and reconstructed to show people a Big Tree. It subsequently died, losing its canopy in 1861. Today it stands as a fire scarred snag. The Mother of the Forest induces feelings of grief and loss. Yet, it is also a symbol of resilience. For despite the worst man could do to her, she still stands.

Mother of the Forest

The sequoias are indeed resilient against drought and fire. Their reproduction is actually reliant on cycles of fire to release seed from pine cones. After the flames have died and the spring rains return, new generations of trees will sprout.

Walking among the Big Trees, the wind stirs the high branches, creating a symphony of swishing crescendos and pianissimos. The community of trees seem to form family groups, whispering over the human visitors roaming their domain. Hopefully, they’ve come to appreciate us, feeling our sense of wonder as we gaze upon them. My crew loved wandering the paths, exploring tree tunnels, and absorbing the sights of nature’s unending creativity.

The trip inspired me to create a new meditation, Wisdom of the Big Trees. Join me for a spiritual, healing journey into the heart of the ancient sequoias.

Meditate with The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life is a cross-cultural ancient symbol. From the Mayans to the Celts, Buddhism to Christianity, sacred trees have symbolized life itself. Old trees are so respected in Japan, authorities will go to great expense and effort to transplant them away them from encroaching highways.

WHAT DOES THE TREE OF LIFE SYMBOLIZE?

Fertility and Family–forests are made up of generations of trees. Saplings grow beneath the protection and provision of their surrounding family. Science is learning more and more about the communication between trees through their root systems. Stands of trees are communities. Every tree provides food or shelter for a multitude of animals and insects.

Beauty, Protection, Clean Air–Trees offer protection from the scorching sun, give us oxygen for each breath. Their beauty inspires us and lifts our spirits.

Ancient Wisdom–Each ring of a tree represents a global orbit around the sun, another year on planet earth. Some trees are known to be 5,000 years old. Oh, if those trees could talk–or if we could understand them. What have they seen and learned?

Visit my YouTube channel to Meditate on the ancient symbol of the Tree of Life. Lean back on the cool ground under the gentle branches and take a few minutes to renew your soul.

Bright blessings

Guardian Whale Meditation at Makapu’u Beach

by Dana Taylor

A few weeks ago I awakened around 5am. I’m a get-up-with-the-sun sort of gal and the sun wasn’t expected to rise on the horizon for another 90 minutes. I look forward to such early waking mornings because I can find an engaging meditation on YouTube and float in a mental Neverland before facing mundane daily tasks. On that particular morning, I chose a hypnosis session from Peter McLaughlin of BlueSky Hypnosis. Getting in Touch with Your Higher Self sounded intriguing, so I clicked the arrow and followed the mental instructions as they unfolded. Peter guided me down a staircase into my subconscious. Fingers snapped and his soothing, well…hypnotic, voice led me into a forest, giving me the out of saying “fully awake” any ole time.

At some point Peter’s voice faded and the blurry forest morphed into a bright, vivid beach setting. I recognized it–Makapu’u Beach on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I’d slipped into a lucid dream state, very much aware I was still in bed, but the images and sensations of the beach seemed utterly real.

Makapu’u Beach Heiau

My first trip to Makapu’u beach, circa 2016, was via a Meetup tour offered by a Kahu (Spiritual Guide) who’d taken on a Hawaiian name, but had been born perhaps some 65 years earlier in Minnesota. Though wheelchair bound, she was pushed through the uneven grassy area by a sturdy twenty-something long-hair surfer dude. She repeatedly referred to the area as “Mermaid Beach.” Being new to Oahu, I assumed “Makapu’u” means “mermaid.” It does not. Nor have I ever heard anyone else call it “Mermaid Beach.”

Makapu’u is a volcanic cove and home to several circular sacred sites called heiaus, filled with carefully arranged lava stones. The stones represent ancient gods and goddesses of the Hawaiian culture. The small group was allowed to walk inside the perimeter of the heiaus and leave gifts of leis or fresh water. The Kahu explained the relationships between the stones. I don’t recall the details of the stories. What I do remember is the energy emanating from the stones. Variations of frequencies pulsed from them, as if they indeed had “personalities.” Perhaps I’ll share all the details of that experience in another post. I mainly want to set the scene for the dream/meditation here.

Beyond the heiaus is a path down to the narrow sandy beach. Volcanic shelves and fingers of stone pounded by the crashing waves give way to the expanse of turquoise ocean. My dream took me right the water’s edge and then into the warm sea. In real life I would have been in serious trouble floundering around, but in dream life, I took to the water like a fish, literally. I transformed into a mermaid. Not a Disney Ariel glamour girl, but more like Flipper. The power of my whale tail propelled me into the open ocean. A dolphin-like skin covered my body. My arms turned more fin-like, but something like hands remained. Water seemed my natural habitat. Gills pulled in sea water, which powered me on. My eyes felt rounder and larger, able to see in the fluid expanse.

I swam towards a looming figure, a huge female blue whale and celebrated a watery reunion with my dear old Mother Guardian Whale. I embraced her, a guppy compared to her enormity. Gripping her fin, she took me on a rollicking ride through the depths. Emotions of joy and love roiled through me.

After the exhilarating frolic, we propelled at a sedate pace. I placed one hand on her head. Our minds joined telepathically. She shared pictures and messages outside of human language, yet highly intelligent. The cascade of information embedded somewhere in my subconscious, only vaguely accessible in my waking state. Planetary history and cosmic connection swirled in my mind.

At a certain point my sleeping self wanted to end the session. But breaking the connection and rising to consciousness proved difficult. Part of me was diving into the deep blue sea while the other was repeating “fully awake, fully awake!”

Groggy and bleary eyed, I finally came to full consciousness thinking, “Wow, that was interesting!”

Inspired by the dream, I’ve created a new guided meditation on my YouTube channel. Before pressing the record button, I center and open myself to creative energy. The sessions are unscripted and take on a life of their own. So, enjoy this trip to Makapu’u Beach and swimming with the Mother Guardian Blue Whale.

Bright Blessings,
